We have already got two old experienced midfield players we surely do not need another one.
Any funds should go to improving the centre back, winger and striker positions.
Talking of strikers if anyone offers decent money for Campbell or Cannot they should be offloaded to enable us to bring in young strikers with potential who are at least prepared to put some effort in.
Fair enough with Campbell as he is 26 going on 27 now, however Cannon is 23 going on 24 he still isn't the oldest of players and we haven't even tried to play to his strengths for most of the time here for example playing him on the left of a front 3 and playing the ball through the middle. We have already got two old experienced midfield players we surely do not need another one.

I accept that he does make some runs which are seemingly invisible to our midfield players who concentrate on passing it backwards or sideways and the only one, Hamer who ever sees them is on his bike. Unfortunately for Cannon when he does get on the end of any passes into space he invariable gets pushed off the ball, as you say he has no pace and I would add that he is no good in the air.Fair enough with Campbell as he is 26 going on 27 now, however Cannon is 23 going on 24 he still isn't the oldest of players and we haven't even tried to play to his strengths for most of the time here for example playing him on the left of a front 3 and playing the ball through the middle.
If you watch Cannon he makes good runs off the ball, and has popped up at times for goal/goal scoring opportunities usually around the ark of penalty area to the penalty spot. When you look at strikers of a similar age, we resigned Billy Sharp from Scunny when he was 21 going on 22 based on his performance in League 1 and us being relegated to the Championship which is a similar age. Billy scored 8 in 51 before being loaned out, his legend status was on his 3rd spell.
Tom Cannon has scored 7 in 51, for a player that we haven't played to his strengths, I think he does get a lot of stick at times, he isn't blessed with pace but neither was Billy Sharp and I don't think he would have done too well being played out of position. Plus it's not being the easiest of atmosphere's to be around, I can see potential with Cannon but he is a bit old school CF, and is it best to go back to "old school roots" rather than tippy tappy sideways.
It's exceptionally poor form for me to judge him off 10 seconds worth of football in 18 months (I don't think the fee helped him) especially when we were screaming out for a new CB at the time however the goal vs Derby last game of the season, when you break that down, it was such a composed finish and that came off the back of a break and running at pace, he got himself into the penalty area to take the pass and pick out the bottom corner, it was great to watch. It will be interesting to see how he does this season but again that does go down to formations, which ultimately will see who we do and don't get through the door firstI accept that he does make some runs which are seemingly invisible to our midfield players who concentrate on passing it backwards or sideways and the only one, Hamer who ever sees them is on his bike. He has been with us for 18 months and I see no sign of him being capable of improving.
videos of him and Billy out in /dubai training like maniacs, if i recall correctly
No coincidence then that he's pally with a couple from Leeds who own a chain of bakeries!Everything in place. Failed medical as he was half a stone overweight. Needs to lose this before we can sign him. Allegedly...
