A business associate who is close to Kalvin has told me we are contributing £28k per week to his Man City wages.
Hopefully I’m proved wrong but I’m sure he’s going to prove to be great value for money.
Thoughts?

If I was earning £28K+ a week, I wouldn’t tell a fucking soul.

He might or might not help us directly in a significant sense 'on the field' whilst he's getting back to match sharpness but if we get him back to a level whereby he commands a decent transfer fee for City then we cement our usefulness to Pep with regard to improving their fringe players.

We've already done a job with McAtee and Doyle that proves we are safe bet for their prospects and squad players. Can only be good for us, surely?

Might be £28k a week well invested in the long run, who knows.

We get in play offs ( ohh fuck ell not a fucking again  ) it will be money well spent !!
Seems a bit rash when the best we can hope for is a one-in-four chance of promotion. And the odds are against us finishing 6th. But if true it demonstrates beyond doubt that our owners are willing to invest. Could be wiser to wait until the summer though.

I think IF (big big if) we get 6th this year, the Play Offs will be looked at completely differently. We won't be expected to win them, it'll be a free hit and an extension of our season.

Who knows maybe it would benefit us.

Not sure on that sentiment regarding the playoffs. Seen a few people say it but in my opinion if we get into the playoffs it will only be because we have been on one hell of a run and probably have better form than any other team in there (and probably the 2 that go up in auto). Given this i reckon we will get a lot of attention when we get close.

Be a good problem to have tho.

It's been said man city are paying most of his wage.

And for that reason it's worth a go at.
Wilder can but not always. Have a knack of connecting with players and making them work in a team. If he gets even half a tune out of Phillips he will contribute to some good performances. If he gets more then we will see him dictating games.

If it doesn't work we have paid a bit of a fee but not his wages. When Ipswich took him last season they took his whole wage. And he didn't deliver. But looking at McKenna smocdics saga. And that Wilder can be a good man manager there's a chance it works..

Has it been confirmed when his loan ends? I assume he'll be here for the play off final against Millwall?

That’s like half a Matos isn’t?

I’m guessing the sum total of wages of Matos, Polendakov, Ukaki, Nwachukwu, Zatterstrom is about what we’re paying weekly for Phillips so let’s not quibble about value of money on this one…

He genuinely looks pleased to be here, he could just dial it in as he’s being paid no matter what he does. We’ve got a few of his mates from Leeds here already so I hope he’ll do well for us.
