Come Tyler, banter's banter and most fans would agree that Hillsborough is a sh1t hole but let's not stoop this low yeah?

Point scoring over the Hillsborough disaster? A pretty classless comment on your part, us Blades are better than that.

Mate of mine was one of the solicitor for the victims during the recent proceedings (he's a pig fan as well) and he readily admitted the club bears at least some responsibility and that at one point they were seriously considering going after the club legally.

How's the weather in Denial today?

Have you read the report on the Hillsborough inquest? A fair bit more than just not having a safety certificate isn't it? Don't want to upset the S6 readership I suppose? You're also aware that it's a legal technicality only that prevents the club being in the dock alongside its former secretary? Still, maybe use him as an artificial and disingenuous scapegoat when you're reporting the trial won't you?

Did you quote the wrong post there?

It's not too bad when the tide is out apparently.

I'm worried for the health of our players on September 23rd, who knows what the tide will have left behind!

They could catch ghonneria off of that pitch

I didn't think The Star had an editor? Now that is a news story in itself!

How come they make mistakes like the one below then?

You have to wonder whether with all the money they're throwing at the squad, whether they'll redevelop their ground any time soon. It is past its best and that isn't a comment intended to rile, its just knackered.

Ours is much more up to date, save for the poles on the Kop.

There has to date been no indication that the owner is remotely interested in redeveloping the ground, Kozzy. The feasibility of building a new stadium near the site of the old Sheffield airport was explored shortly after Chansiri bought the club, but that hasn't been progressed.

The cost of attending to Hillsborough would be prohibitive. The Leppings Lane end needs demolishing and starting again; ditto the North-West corner which has concrete cancer; the North Stand was cutting-edge when built but is now over 50 years old and doesn't have any of the offices and facilities beneath it (in fact it has nothing more than a gymnasium in the back) that are a pre-requisite in modern grounds; the Kop was done on the cheap (much like ours), looks a mess and the concrete sections that were added to square it up when they put the roof on have been subject to safety concerns ever since they were built; and the original parts of the South Stand date from 1913 and have rotten timber layers on top of the concrete as well as cramped gangways and Vomitries.

All of that is going to add up to a very big bill. And, of course, foreign businessmen with no particular loyalty to clubs aren't generally interested in incidental things like stadiums, history and legacy, in the same way that fans are; it's naturally all about the prize of the pot of TV money.

I'm not saying that the club didn't bear some responsibility (or at least the custodians of the club at the time as I'm not sure any of them are there now), what I am saying however is as much as I dislike the Wendies I would never stoop so low as to using the deaths of those poor people to score points on an Internet forum.

Ah well. Some people prefer to speak the truth, no matter how unpalatable.

Of course and there's a thread about the Hillsborough disaster for us to discuss it.

I just think there's something a bit classless about using the deaths of those poor people to score points in an unrelated thread.

Just my opinion but I think we're better than that.

Nothing to do with "scoring points". The Pigs involvement in those deaths has too often been overlooked, and it's high time they were held to account.
You should be as disgusted about it as I am quite frankly.

My issue here isn't with who was responsible for the deaths of those poor people. The various contributing factors are there for all to see and have been debated at great length on the thread about the disaster.

My issue here is in a thread where we can all sit back and have a good old laugh at the current state of Hillsborough in comparison to our own stadium, you start dragging up the disaster which really has nothing to do with this thread and just ends up completely derailing the thread.

If you want to debate who was to blame for the disaster, do it in the thread about the disaster, no need for the point scoring over it though. Just strikes me as being a bit low.

You can keep mentioning point-scoring all you like. I just happen to be of the mind that no mention of that place should overlook their culpability. It's been the elephant in the room for 28 years, and it's high time that changed.
I can see this debate going in circles, so I'll leave it at that.

If that's the case then fair enough but do it in the Hillsborough disaster thread, no need to use the deaths of those poor people to point score though, as I said before, to me it just seems a bit low.

I've said all I have to say on the matter.

As a Sheffielder I am ashamed at the lack of care taken to fans by SWFC
It was shown in a ch 5 documentary they were instructed to build guide ways into each pen after 2 near tragedies they were also advised to cut the numbers by 14 or so in the 4 lower pens The fact they did neither shows crass disregard to fan safety.I can see a shit storm hitting hillsborough once the families seek compensation for their loss and the 28 year struggle for justice.
It will only take one family winning against unsafe , unlicensed terracing to win and 95 others will follow. The club employed the secretary so its culpable , every bit as much as the Police are for who they employed then . If the Police are hit for claims it follows SWFC will get summoned
They failed to look at it after this

and this http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...g-of-crushing-at-1988-semi-final-8135609.html
yet the star acts as though it was just one mans error at SWFC ,
WHEN IN FACT ITS A CULTURE OF CARELESS DISREGARD OF SAFETY
8 years after the wolves game gave them a warning theyd done nothing
then had the bare faced cheek 8 weeks after the tragedy to ask the FA for compensation for barrier damage

You toddle off back to being an apologist for scum.

How have you come to that conclusion? Because I told you that Bramall Lane also didn't have the required certification, that means I'm somehow defending others?

And I'm the one who is having his intelligence called into question!
