If not for the 2pt deduction , we'd be 4 points clear , which is stunning
After virtually a complete rebuild about 2 minutes ago.
Anyone must admit that CW. can put a team together with only pennies to spend on fees.
To have this team spirit after such a short time is nothing less than miraculous.
A bit like the Harry Bassett rebuild in 1988 , but of course a lot of them came from his Wimbledon days

This doesn't mean that I agree with all his tactical & selection decisions , but he has given us some identity after the devastation of last season

Don’t you think the two points deduction has also focused us more? Just like the QPR collapse also did? Like the Boro and Leeds defeats also did?

as we were saying shoutbox this morning with sunderland, calling us millionaires, squad doesnt reflect that souza & hamer were financed by selling berge & ndiaye. then rest of the team was 2m, loan, loan, 1.5m 3m, loan, academy, free, Free

our bench I think was academy free free academy free Academy academy academy free. so wilder has exceeded all expectations on this rebuild. this what i was expecting under slavisa

The Blades are top of the league, sometimes with slightly disappointing performances but thats where we are. The whole country thinks Leeds are champions elect but I'll tell you one thing! 'Leeds WILL fall apart again'! UTB
TBF I'm keeping my powder dry as all my weeds mates are still taking the piss , but come next may the gloves are fucking off if we do this 😁

And we knew that we’d be a bit short on numbers I’m hoping for a couple of extra faces in the JTW

Have we not spent several millions this summer on acquisitions and loan fees ? Hardly pennies even in this league.

I'm curious - how much was our NET spend on transfer fees after selling Jebbo & Trusty ?

I dunno about loan fees.

Not sure, but you need to add Osula and possibly Traore to that list, plus the higher wages paid to long termers, like Norwood, Egan and Basham. It must add up.

Worth reminding supporters that this rebuild, as good as it has been, is not finished yet?

If anyone watched Farka's incoherent post match interview today you'll quickly realise we're in a better place than they are. My fear is Burnley who are similar to us and stringing together defensively strong wins with sub optimal performances.

Don’t forget the wages and signing on fees we have paid to some of those free transfers. They are never “free”

But the argument the likes of Sunderland have seems a little shallow given they squandered their own huge advantage by over spending for many years in the premier league to compound their relegation and see them fall off that cliff.
I find it kind of brain dead to be ranting as some of them are now just because they’ve taken a few years and slowly built a squad…while also paying some big fees and salaries etc themselves!

It won’t be long til they’re in the poo if they don’t go up!
