Just one observation from the stats (Brum)

Just one observation (in an attempt to maintain positivity), McCallum won most tackles (4), made most interceptions (3), second most clearances (5) won most headers (7) - had most crosses (4) and most successful crosses - and even made one key pass. Stats wise, an easy man of the match.

He was shockingly bad first half
What about passes that put his fellow players in trouble any stats for that
The throw in to Sasanoukas I think it was was alarmingly bad

I admire the desire to be positive although fear you will struggle to achieve that this evening when everything is viewed through a very sharp lens.

Given the set up of the team, the lack of balance (and therefore passing options) and the quality of the defenders they are playing alongside - often for the first time - I suggest it was hard for anyone to look good tonight.

And thats where the AI will

if ever there was a reason not to buy into AI then this is it; McCallum was and is useless…when you look at the utter dross Wilder signed it borders on the unbelievable….the invisible man (Shackleton) is another: we signed him knowing he was a crock…utter garbage transfer mentality…..and don’t get me started on Canon

Watching that game actually made me feel sorry for Gus. If he can get a better offer elsewhere…Why the hell is he wasting his time with us.

I fear people are imagining ai is taking a bigger role than it really is - and also blur the distinction between data analysis, which Brighton and Brentford have demonstrated has its value, and the role of ai in interpreting that data.

Selles expressly "assured data will not take the place of the good old-fashioned eye test. The main thing will always be the "football eye", the way that we see the game, the way we identify the players." And his recent statements have stressed "prioritizing quality over quantity in the transfer market this summer" whilst also looking for those youngsters who may develop over time.

The frustration is that he needs to deliver on what he says. Where are these quality first team additions? Soumare? Possibly Bindon? Both on loan! We need first team players, and we need them now. At least 2 centre backs, a right back - and probably (using Prem loans) another right winger, centre mid and attacker. ....

Lies damned lies and statistics personified.
I don't know how this post was made intent wise but it made me laugh out loud amongst the disasters in this country as well as #sufc.
He may have made tackles - he also made clumsy fouls and could have had bookings.
He was skinned and left miles behind loads of times.
He played sometimes as if he was on some sort of drug. Presumably the same as Robinson.
Plus as I always say, his first touch is further than a Floorboards OHare pass.
It WAS less comical than him playing at right back on Saturday.
And WHY in other insane moments does he go to take right wing corners (a good winner of a header and supposedly a defender) when Brooks is already over there?
A typical Wilder signing. WRONG
Great lad but four year contract when never good enough for this level let alone higher.
He WOULD be better than another shocking signing (played totally incorrectly again) Cannon on the left wing - he did well in the Norwich home win in a threadbare team last Christmas period.
but then Brooks should be playing there (if we ever get three genuine midfielders) ripping teams open,
Both Cannon and Campbell are both being played with their backs to goal too much rather than running onto passes (like that assault on Campbell)
- but then WHO IS NOT BEING BADLY UTILIZED!!!!!

From coolblade:

I certainly don’t have any answers - and in general my posts are merely designed to provide a different (objective) perspective in order to provoke debate.

But as you astutely picked up, this last post was more tongue in cheek. I fully appreciate the limitations of data and stats without proper context and analysis. Sellers says he agrees.
