Well done for reaching the semi finals can't say I'm not gutted but you deserved it .What a good atmosphere too, all the best for the game at Wembley and for the rest of the season . Enjoy

Cheers Andy, your view reflected the vast majority of Charlton fans who posted here. Seems a lot of you guys mingled with Blades before the game and got on well, ain't that how it's meant to be? Hope you survive in the Championship mate, you just need to show a bit more desire.....gotta say, I liked your man Poyet, very good on the ball.

Cheers Andy, thought that it wasn't going to be our day as you looked comfortable, then all of a sudden it was two nil. You can never be at ease at the Lane as we have always have a habit of throwing 2 goal leads away, but once the second goal went in your lads heads seemed to drop. Think you will be okay, class Manager in Powell and brilliant following today. Regards.

just climb into 4th from bottom spot above the Wendy's and we'll see you next season ;)

Thanks guys you certainly are the better half of Sheffield .Did like your stadium better atmosphere then the so called Massive's

All the Charlton fans on here have been class. I worked at Greenwich for a while and used to commute past the ground and knew loads of Addicks at work. I have got loads of respect for a club that has built up from its community and survived and prospered through some really hard times. I hope you stay up this season.

Still a horrible sour taste in my mouth this morning.

Not only do you have Wembley to look forward too, but you have the added bonus that you have achieved something this season regardless of what happens in the league. The joy of a win in matched with the relief of not being let down by your players.

Not expecting any sympathy but i could really do with a cuddle.

Not that we haven't sat at the "other end of the ground" where all that's concerned!

Our day in the sun, hope yours comes in May when you leapfrog Sheffields irrelevant other team to avoid relegation at their expense.

chin up mate! football is a cruel game of 2 halves, but the team at the end of 90 mins who scores the most wins, sometimes you will be sick as a parrott sometimes over the moon...............at least you have more chance of being in the champ next season (just!). In all seriousness tho, best of luck.

Great support yesterday from your fans, first 20 minutes I thought you was the better team, then when we scored your heads went down. Good luck for the rest of the season though.

George, your posts have been refreshing mate. It's how fans ought to be when they chat, none of this antagonism that seems so widespread today, just good, honest banter, a bit of mickey-taking, and the knowledge that we all have to face the same ups and downs at some point. I can recall when you had former European Footballer Of The Year Allan Simonsen playing briefly for you. Great player and at the time a big investment for you guys, so fond memories of your club mate.

Best of luck with the remainder of the season.

The first text I received after the game was from a mate who's a Charlton fan, saying our win was fully deserved.

This showed pure class when he, like all Addicks, must have been absolutely floored by the result.

A good club, supported by great fans and I hope they stay in the Championship.

It's alright when they are a decent club like Charlton even if we had lost I would have been congratulating George this morning. But some clubs really don't deserve decent mention like weeds, wendy and the Hull Plastics.

George even though Charlton Lost at least you support a decent club, with a decent guy as manager and great supporters. I really hope you stay up.

As I wrote jezza, it's how fans ought to be, it's just a pity that some fans see their support as being enough of a reason to cause trouble, or even harm, to opposing supporters.

1 That'll be too much beer!

Bet you still don't feel any better!

Your following deserved better actually.

Understood. I'm not into the violence side of things at all. But some clubs do make my blood boil. Liverpool, MK Dons, and the cheats will never have my respect either along with aforementioned wendy, weeds and the hull plastics. However most other clubs are ok and deserve respect.

It's good of the Charlton fans to come on here and be so reasonable about things. But to say they deserved better is a bit over the top. We were the better team and had the more passionate support throughout. Yes, they missed a sitter but we played the better football, scored 2, hit the post & had 2 disallowed.

I meant that their followers deserved a better effort from the team they were following

Blades fans know more than most how bad it feels losing after a great run. Charlton were there when our season came crashing around us two seasons ago. Got to agree with others on here that Charlton fans have been great on here and I've heard great things from my mates back home about Charlton fans yesterday, I saw and heard the support you guys gave yesterday.

The game could've gone either way yesterday, needed a goal and we got it, but it could've easily been Harriott that got it. Two quick goals killed it off.

Not sure what you thought of Charlton's performance but I thought we were exceptional yesterday.

All I can say is good luck with beating relegation. Hopefully we'll keep our own run going and join you in the championship rather than you coming down to league 1 to us!

Will certainly be keeping an eye on Charlton results from now on, and hope they stay up. A proper football club in a sea of plastic......and a collective big kiss from all of us, for putting those arrogant pigs in their place in the last round :-)

Andy / George thanks for your best wishes. I can imagine you are feeling down today. I know it's modern day management cliche but if your management and players learn from yesterday then it won't be a failure.

On February 1st on this site many of us were considering 'phoning the Samaritans after a 0-3 defeat at Crewe. Cloughie, his management team and players used that defeat and performance as a springboard to this amazing run of victories that we have just experienced.

I (seriously) suggest Mr Powell takes a leaf out of NC's book and use yesterday as an inspiration to kick start the rest of your season. Treat yesterday as the lowest and know there is only one direction you can go.

Our defeat at Crewe could have been the best victory we have had all season. I hope you guys will look back and see that result yesterday was your best victory. All the best.

Cheers for the good luck wishes chaps.

If you've not heard, Chris Powell has been sacked this morning. The only way this week could get any worse is if we lose against the Scum (M*llwall) on saturday.

Its all going tits up!

What Charlton need to do now is appoint a manager like Warnock on a short term to the end of the season deal. The remit is quite simply - retain Championship status. Behind the scenes the 'powers that be' should then be working on bringing in a replacement in the close season that will develop a long term strategy for the club to move forward from next season.

If you appoint someone now that has long term ambitions in mind then I think you will be relegated.

I believe Fulham should have done exactly the same. They will be relegated this season and I can see them going down the leagues just as we have done.
