Yes. Just. I’m not exaggerating. 4 hours there, a while (including a lengthy stop off in London) back - wow. Well worth it. What a fucking side we are.

We don’t have a weakness in our side. A third of the season through. Everyone commits to this way of playing, everyone plays for each other, everyone defends, everyone attacks. Incredible.

Mousset just gives us something else. He was frightening the impressive Davinson Sanchez to death and only his pace got him out of trouble. Was that Alderweireld and dare I say Mousset would’ve got another couple of chances simply due to his pace alone. Gives us such an edge and something to pin the opposition defence back. And that’s doing him a disservice because he’s more than just an Olympic sprinter he’s a fucking good footballer.

Lunny with his continued impressive turnaround - fantastic today.

Poor mistake from Egan and Stevens between them but fucking hell incredible performance otherwise.

Baldock - glad he got his goal. No matter how fortuitous. Deserved it and really happy for him.

Didsy? Wow. I don’t need to use any superlatives or descriptive words you all know that he’s about. Goal ROBBED. Gutted for him. Leads me on to my next point.

Of course the big sickener today is the decision (which wasn’t offside...)
VAR needs to change in 3 ways for me:
1. If you can’t make the decision in 30 seconds it’s not ‘clear and obvious’ so the original decision stands
2. If not, ENCOURAGE the refs to run and check the screen. What’s the point implementing it otherwise? The ref in Stockley Park is literally just that, a ref. Not a superhuman or a robot. He’s just going off an opinion.
3. ‘Phases of play’ should be 5 seconds. No longer.

On to the European journey. What a special time to be a blade

Don't see many players trouble Sanchez like Mousset did.

We're now moving forward with the quality and numbers that we did in the other system. McGoldrick and Mousset as a pair have took us to a new level. Then the wing backs, The Lun and Fleck on top of their game supporting the attacks makes up for the lack of a third attacking player.

They went back to their back 3 late on
Say no more

This, this 1000x over. This is why the flat 3 has started working so well.

And with the vast skillsets of McGoldrick and Mousset, it's like having 3 attacking players anyway.

It feels like we're playing with 12 men a lot of the time. A superb system, superbly played.

At this rate I don't see how we can improve much. At least 9 of the starting 11 are looking genuinely excellent at PL level.

Don’t know who the 2 are, I’d go as far as to say all 11

Two words. Mitrovic. FACT. Fact. fact.

Sale & return of defective goods, my good fellow. Sale and return in the JTW. ;)
Part-ex OMB plus cash? This could actually be a tasty deal for Fulham, he is proven at championship level... i think Mitrovic is the only striker i would exchange oli for. I do think McB will come thru, but not to Mitrovic levels!

Fanciful. We don't get money for defective goods. We're usually lucky to loan them out. Also...... wages.

I'm an ultra positive dreamer; it's a character fault of mine. ;)

If we are serious about pushing onto the next level, which we now have the very good opportunity to do so, that level of signing is what is needed. As well as a brutality in our transfer dealings, both in and out. You can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs, and if we have to break a couple of short term eggs for the long term term benefit of the team, then so be it.

We are 5th in the premier league, a truly amazing situation, but we need to quickly get the mindset. Suggesting that we buy the leading goalscorer in the championship who plays for the 6th placed club, shouldn't be inducing the vapours. It's not like I'm suggesting we go out and try and get Koumas.

There is no chance we could sign Mitrovic. He is the one Championship player who is pie in the sky.

Wages are huge which would mean a big wage disparity between the rest of the squad and him. It’s not what we’re about.
He’d cost about 40mil
He’s based in London and it’s hard to drag players away from there especially when they are on big money.
Last but not least he will be looking for a bigger club than us.

I get that, but no way should we be chasing 100k p/w players anytime soon.

If we're in a good position in January (highly likely) we'll get a lot of foreign whores throwing themselves at us. That looks like the best route for now.

I know, i just like throwing his name into discussions now & then. ;) He's rumoured to be on £60k a week at Fulham, and our top earners must be now on £40k's?

Foreign whores?!!? I'd still like to think that Petagna is worth a scout and a punt. 👍
