He wasn't in charge when that was quoted...if it was actually quoted. So completely irrelevant

Completely irrelevant, do you think?

All that matters is what the owners promised Wilder.

Btw: McCabe stated it in Feb 2016...blew back in his face when Wilder smashed L1.

“McCabe said: “It’s been planned to be the case. It hasn’t been the case and I ask you to recognise we’ve got pretty close to the ‘game-changer’ because that comes with a first promotion back to the Championship.”

11th= nearly getting promoted. I've obviously just woken up in a parallel universe.
11th, 6points behind 6th and in it until the 45th game is 'nearly reaching the playoffs' though but i'm disappointed that we didn't get 70 points.. not sure why though

Given the ownership’s previous statements about ramping up investment when we reach the Championship, and having Premiership ambitions, it’s not unreasonable to expect to be spending over £1m on a player by now. We’ve yet to do so, and the reality is that sort of money is chicken feed by modern standards.

We’ve spent 700k on a couple of players so it’s not a huge leap at all. If a player like Blackman is available at £1.5m, and we’re unable to pay it, then I don’t think our stated Premiership ambition is very realistic. It doesn’t need Jordan Rhodes money, but an incremental increase on what went before.

I wouldn't expect us to be buying multi million pound players in our first season back in the championship, especially after so long in league 1 and the lack of tv money etc compared to the "big time" after the "small time" we've endured. The few £700,000 players we've paid out for is a ramping up of investment on what we've recently been buying players for, especially after McCabes previous austerity measures.
We don't know the current level of promised budget for the summer.....McCabe said at the shareholders meeting, regardless of the litigation that an agreed budget had been set by himself and the Prince...this may or may not be good enough to buy maybe 2 or 3, million pound players......depends what Wilder considers the budget should be to match his vision of progression and ambition, he may be looking to buy several million pound players?
For all we know McCabes Premiership ambition might be in another 5 year plan, while the Prince wants to fast track by spending more on the team whilst not taking on the properties, so he has a return on his investment sooner.
There's just way too many unknowns atm i'm just waiting to see what actually happens.

McCabe seemed to think Princey was going to chuck a load of money at it/take over in the Champ..one way or another it didn’t happen, hence the mess now.

The debt has already been written off.
Its a matter of trust
would any right thining manager dare go there after seeing how Coleman was left high and dry
no support , not a good squad , and a season in league one ahead and some disputing our stability
what stability is there at the Stadium of Light

or get in a couple here and go for the prem
we were 2 wins off 6
and as Freeman and his 10 goals return wont be far away

I agree .....but posts like one on here saying Prince is furious with CW do not help. They hinder ! CW has to feel he is wanted by BOTH owners for next season given a joint owners agreed budget then all will be well for our bids going in 1st June. Its only 3 weeks away so he isn't being pushy he just likes to plan & prepare for June 1st. It's fantastic we finished 9th in Champ ...everyone thought we would be fighting relegation all season ! So all fans have to admit CW is a genius. Look at how Leon has been chosen as The Championship best no no 9 Player in Champ Team of the year. These are votes from Champ players not just fans who know nowt or local radio station pundits who know even less ! I always knew Leon would walk it as he's been the best no 9 I've seen all season. I must have a similar tactical mind as CW ....Leon always has both centre halves sticking to him like glue so the other striker or attacking midfielders should score for fun. It's not rocket science Blades.
