Maybe it was the Autumn of his career
What is so funny about this? A bloke has lost his job.
Its a comment to me, hence the quote.I don't get the smiley face. Are you in some way making light of the fact that a normal bloke has lost his job?
I'd just like to thank him for all his ceaseless hard work for SUFC and I think all Blades should do the same.
McCabe has lost a lot of money at this club but it doesn't stop you slagging him off at every given opportunity. It is not as though the guy can't get another jobWhat is so funny about this? A bloke has lost his job.

Answers on a postcard please.
We are a Mickey Mouse, joke of a club - why do we need this bloke or anyone similar?
I hereby volunteer my services for £40k per annum and would also do scouting for quick players and would sort the half time queues out - not that it will be much of a problem in the coming years.
Kevin McCabe - sorry fella but you make me physically sick.
McCabe has lost a lot of money at this club
Mccabe doesnt do anything for nothing.Interesting to know how much he has actually 'lost' if you take out the accountancy complexities of our finances (and his losses and write downs etc) which it seems almost impossible to do or understand and if you factor in his gains from how his involvement with club may have helped his investements in property in China, Australia etc and presumably soon Nigeria, how much the hotel and other assets are or will be worth and how much he has/will take out from transfer profits, Tevez...
I don't think anyone has a clue as to the level of his losses.
Mccabe doesnt do anything for nothing.
Do you think he's better off, overall, for his involvement with SUFC?
I'd be amazed if it hasn't cost him tens of millions.

I'm amazed that anyone thinks McCabe got involved with SUFC to make money. It's a rich man's vanity project.

I don't think he got involved to make money but along the way he saw how his global business ambitions could benefit from his involvement in United.
I also think he fully intended that relationship to be mutually beneficial for the club.
There's no doubt the football side went tits up. I really have no idea how McCabe's own property ventures in China or Australia are doing. Or how United have opened doors for him in the business world over the years.
Can't really see how he can make a loss on the hotel in the long run given what he paid for it.
In this context it seems too simplistic to say he's lost tens of millions on United as nobody on here can state that with any certainty.
Can't really see how he can make a loss on the hotel in the long run given what he paid for it.
But he owned the business that lost lots of money on the hotel. Transferring it to the PLC didn't make the losses go away.
He might, in future, make money from it. But that's the same logic applied year after year throughout football as millions flow down the toilet. Right now, it's lost a fortune.
What can be stated with certainty from published accounts is that he's lost millons. The uncertain bits are the "doors that have been opened". These might well have brought further losses, or potentially profit. But that bit is unlnown.

I thought the football club paid for the building of the hotel, it was making losses in the recsession and then McCabe bought it for a knockdown price..
I also thought that the apparent 'lost millions' which were lost due to bad decisions and bad luck are in fact owed to McCabe and that he has started the process of recovering that money..
I appreciate it may take a while to get out what he wants if ever but this whole area of McCabe, the debt, the loans, the company structure etc is far from clear to anyone which does remove the certainty whatever the accounts may say.
