wtf are we doing scouting in the youth leagues of Ecuador?

Good idea trying to get young players on for the future, only need one to work out and potentially break into the first team to make it worth while

Because if our scouts go to most of Europe they will have to quarantine for two weeks🤪

The right thing. Better than trawling L1 and championship for our futures. Keith Edwards 16 (I think), Rooney (17) et al made their debuts.

How do you think Barcelona picked up Messi!
Accepted not at the same level but from acorns oak trees grow.
What's to dislike about it,the word will get out in south America!, we are looking for talent .That remark is over the top but you get the gist of where I'm coming from.

tbf I think people have took my comment the wrong way, wasn't criticising it, just that it's incredible that as a club that's what we're doing now.

Diego Maradona...

In 2018 he won Ecuador's National Academy Player of the Year and has represented Ecuador at U16 & U17 levels. He scored 22 goals in 33 games in 2018-19 -

I mean yeah, of course but Ecuador doesnt exactly spring to mind as the first place to start

I would imagine that in the leading South American countries (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay etc), any promising youngsters are quickly scouted and snapped up by the leading clubs there and then sold unto European league teams for a nice tidy profit. Its probably very difficult to forge relationships with clubs in these countries and as such we have to be abit "cuter" about how we go about things. Theres also no reason that we have not had a look elsewere (other countries) and that this kid is the first player deemed good enough to have a further look at.

Anyway its only a trial, and we all know that nothing is actually agreed yet.
