I can't see him being in any rush to return to the North after last season's experience. As others have said, while there is obviously a decent player in there (not a £10m one though IMHO), a combination of injuries, CW's style of play which obviously didn't suit him and his negative demenour, I doubt either party would give his return serious thought. A shame really as I think he would probably thrive under Selles and his style of play.

I would think a loan to somewhere like QPR, Millwall or even abroad is more likely.

Hes not playing for Palace this season and i think a London loan is a good call

Good player. Disappointed he didnt get more opportunities and not sure why that was. So dangerous in 1 v 1 with defenders. Needs to improve decision making a final ball but hes got all tbe attributes. He'll be great for someone at championship level at least I think.

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to a German club and gets sold back to the Premier League in two or three seasons, for triple the price.

I think it was a mxture of injuries and wilder mis-using him

I think wilder saw him as a luxury player or whatever that means

When JRS was fit he was very good

The whole playing BBD out of position in JRS Right wing spot was beyond ridiculous and completely ruined BBD who was again massively wasted out of positiomn

I would have BBD back all day every day also hed be our best striker and best wide left player

People will look back on that international break before we played Leeds and wonder how the fuck did the guy who scored both goals in the prior game lose his spot.

Why is it Managers overthink it and try to be too clever? Football is a simple game. If he hadn’t had that extra time to replay things in his mind, not sure how you convince yourself your match winner on Saturday should drop out the next game, especially when he scored both goals.

Disappointed that he didn't get more of a crack.

Not great defensively which exposed him a bit in front of the various right backs of varying quality we used last season. By the time Choudhury had established himself there as probably the best one, poor old JRS was out of the picture with Wilder shoehorning players like BBD and Brewster in his position instead.

A lad who has plenty to offer and a decent eye for goal which is more than can be said for most of our other midfielders. If he has a good, consistent season at Championship level again, he could force his way in at Palace or somewhere equivalent.

JRS looked a natural goalscorer to me. He had that ability to shoot blind and hit the target and he would scuff or half strike a shot to get it in the right direction that reminded me of Billy or Mousset. If he was available and selected for a full season, I think he would reach 15 goals at this level, which would be hugely valuable given teams generally play with one up top these days. I think it was the rest of his game, which still had a lot of development to do. So although it was a mixed bag for us, I think he would be great addition to a champ squad aiming to be squarely in the top 6. I think some of the disappointment is that he was built up be another MGW kind of loan, he was the big Prem loan signing everyone wanted. I know someone who was involved with his development at Palace and they say his a very quiet, diligent and insular character, close to his family and church and it was a challenge for him to move away from home, but felt it did him a lot of good.

JRS and Brooks suffered from the tactics we used. Don’t think I have seen many of ever where the winger is asked to mark 20 yards of space as much as those two: was never asked to press. I think if you put both in a Selles pressing system you would see different outcomes for the good

I still can't believe we never saw Brooks and JRS play together on opposite wings. I think back to last season and all of the square pegs in round holes, and I hope we don't look back at it being a missed opportunity.

As said earlier both also suffered from Wilder trying to play the likes of Brewster and BBD in wide positions in front of natural wide men.

If Selles does just one thing and that's play with wingers who put balls into the box for Campbell and Moore to get on the end of that will be a big improvement for me

Timid and positionally naive was given more than enough chances but got worse until in the end wasn't even considered for our biggest game of the season as he couldn't be trusted

That's saying that you value defensive responsibility and KM ran over the ability to create chances. A perfectly legitimate view to hold but picking try harder players over match winners is a big reason why United only scored 63 goals last season.

A good manager builds a team that protects the weaknesses of it's creators.

Timid players don't take the responsibility of shooting and trying to play the final pass. Running lots but taking no responsibility on the ball is timid

Not really ,the lad had talent no doubt and I agree that he wasn't used correctly by wilder but there were games and moments where we needed soemoneon to step up and you just knew it wasn't going to be him

Mostly, because the ball never got near him. At no point did I think he shirked responsibility for trying to create chances. Not picking him in the squad fir the final (if he wasn't injured) was pathetic mismanagement of resources

I didn't see anything to suggest he'll be a top level player. Everytime he had a player to take on he ran straight at them and lost the ball. It's almost as if he didn't see them. One of the least intelligent footballers I've seen football wise in a red and white shirt. He also often held onto the ball too long when players were crying out for an early release. Over rated player for me, despite the goals and assists.

Yep, he's a box of tricks but not much end product. I do think there's potentially a player in there but I can't see him realising that potential.

I think he's worth the £10m to sign him, as I think there's real promise there. But clearly we don't have the financial means to pay that sort of money in this league, plus the fact the lad didn't seem too content up here.

He was always doing things off the cuff like some sort of maverick, which either means he never listened and understood his role or he was not given clear instructions which were practised

He is a wonderful flair player, who creates chances and scores goals. To reach the very top level, like a Sakha, Morgan Rogers or even an Iliman Ndiaye he needs to do all of that and work every bit as hard out of possession.

Rangers would be a great move for him. Possession a given, with flair players required to unlock stubborn opponents' defence.

Interesting. Don’t think he’s going to make a massive impact in the PL. Probably worth 10 million, so not a massive risk for Wolves? They’d have gone down last season if it wasn’t for the fact the three that went up were terrible
