But because wages.

Right type and calibre though. Up there with Robinson and Freeman.

It's impressed me how he's mucked in and contributed in a Birmingham team that is far from ideal for him.

Whether he does or doesn't come (unlikely IMO) it's reassuring that CW appears to be targeting another #10 to push/share the load with Duffy. If true, it would also appear that he's written off Woodburn from doing that role.

Birmingham signed him for £6 million and he's still under contract so there's not a hope in hell

We won't pay his wages and we won't pay the transfer fee either,

Would prefer freeman as a similar type of player to be fair.

Wouldn’t think we have much of a chance but you never know what The financial state of Birmingham will be at any point I. Time so they may need cash.

But could be an ideal Longer term Duffy solution.

Might be on my own here ,but I think hes massively over rated and exactly not what we want.

Would be quite unbelievable, his perfect position is exactly where Duffy plays, similar type of ability and work ethic, but wages would be a showstopper.

Yeah he's not an out and out attacker and agree he's a number 10, doesn't do anything spectacular but can hold the ball up and thread a pass beautifully (yes I've been on Youtube). Still would much rather blow our load on a goalscorer but this would be a good addition.

Aren't Birmingham in trouble with FFP? if we splash cash for Jota i would be incredibly suprised

I wouldn't be surprised to see us spend relatively big money in January - it's there to spend. If we're still near the top end of the table, it would be a great time to make a 'sensible gamble'.

A player of this quality, and particularly in this position, would really strengthen our promotion push.

Would be an excellent signing and would provide excellent competition for Duffy. Money could be an issue though, as others have suggested.

Birmingham have to sell in January so a lot of their bigger earners will be linked with moves...

He looked great for Brentford. But is there a reason why he's not been as good at Birmingham?

And wasn't he a bit of a one season wonder at Brentford, I thought they loaned him out for a while because he wasn't cutting it for a while

Where did this even come from? I'd say as close to 'absolutely no fucking chance' as you can get.

Not Irish or British, on a "we think we should be in the Premier League" wage from a club who'll need the going rate.

Decent player though, but I've seen him play as a winger more than anything, which doesn't really fit.

He'd be a Brooks replacement more than a Duffy replacement and we couldn't fit Brooks in (and we didn't have to pay for Brooks)

Think we'll try and get Robinson in January before being gazumped by Huddersfield or something, that'll be the January Waghorn.

Spidy sense says this is "paper talk", as we used to say.

If we're still in the top 6 come Jan though, or better, you never know.

Wilder is gaining respect. Who wouldn't want to come an play for us?

We can afford the transfer fee and his wages but he has Girly hair so there's no chance CW will have that :p

Let's be honest if we've got premier league ambition AND Wilder wants him, and that's the key, we have to be able to compete with the likes of Birmingham on the wage front don't we ?

Precisely, but it won’t suit those whose only pleasure comes from belittling the club they claim to support and wallowing in the comfort of their Bladey Inferiority Complex.

If we’re top of the league in January we will be spending and why wouldn’t a Birmingham Fucking City player want to join a bigger, better club?

It comes from Pete O’Rourke. There will be something in it. It may very well not happen, of course, but it’s more than mere speculation. The rest, absolutely right.

Simply stating facts...

You've confused opinion with fact......I stated a relatively unimportant view based on opinion, you, employing the certainty that often stems from not listening, chose to state your opinion that anything other than your opinion was not worth considering.

Eric, it was my view, not written in tablets of stone. I may well be wrong, but honestly, apart from yourself, who really gives a fig?

You - evidently :)

Top we are never going to pay silly money and if he's really on 40k a week that's well out of our range. However with us pushing for promotion there has to be a chance we push the boat out.

Whether we do or not may be dependent on Wilder. If he goes to the board and says get me these 2 players as I think they can be the difference between us going up or not maybe we will take the gamble knowing full well we can sell the likes.of Jack and Fleck in the summer if the gamble.doesnt pay off.

Wages and salary can be offset with signing on fees surely. Pay him £15k per week and make the rest up with the initial signing on fee - this applies to any potential target :)

How long has he got left on his contract?
Brum may be forced into selling if yhey are breaching Fpp.

Still dont see it as a realistic signing though

20k / 25k a week with a tasty signing on fee!

Would put him as one of the highest earners, but we need to bring in high earners if we really want to push in January I think

Only seen him play on 3 occasions when he played for Brentford (once) and Birmingham (twice) against United. Looked like he put a shift in all the time and clearly had talent. If it was a goer, think he'd be great at the Lane
