I was going to say no, but after thinking about it a bit further, it might not be the worst idea in the world. If the contract wasn't too daft and it was a year contract then he might be worth a look at.

I know we were keen on him before he signed for Villa.
 
I didn't think he would have been a massive improvement on Duffy, then when we got Freeman instead I was more than pleased.
Late in the window and for free, yeah I'd take him. He's a neat little player but he'd just be cover.
 
I wouldn’t be averse to this to be honest. Could play across a couple of positions and we don’t have any attacking midfielders.

He’d definitely be a good option, but you would think he’s already got another club waiting in the wings if he’s agreed to end his deal with Villa early.
 
A definite no from me too similar to Freeman and not quick enough for PL and couldn’t get in a poor Villa team who should have been relegated bar the freak ghost goal. We can do better.
 
Personally, I think this would have a far greater chance of happening than DB but assuming there's no smoke without fire, it's pleasing that CW seems to be after a creative - x-factor type of player.
 
He was shit hot at Brentford a few seasons back, seems to have lost his way. This would be a typical Wilder signing.
 
Was bizarre he just went missing at Villa. Where was he and why didn't he play!?

Yeah we were linked with him, and I wanted him. But now? I've no idea! He'd be a no10 option, no way we'd play him RCM.
 
Would still rate this transfer for an attacking midfield option, when’s the deadline for free transfers?

Wonder if Chema Sanz has been in contact with him did bits in a poor Birmingham side 2 or 3 seasons back. Had some decent performances last season for a poor Alaves side too.

One of a very small group available for free who tick the boxes.

Not expensive, would easily get a WP, proven at this level, just turned 30 so plenty of life in him and never relied on pace anyway. Feels low risk, big thumbs up from me.

Especially as the jokanovic way doesn’t really rely on pace. Technically good players and keeping possession
 
Is he on a free? If not I can't see it the way this window is going.
