Player Suggestion Josh Sargent

Bamford until January suggests we've got eyes on a perm striker. Sargent ticks a few boxes:
Great AI stats
Loves running about
Scored a few then tailed off
Perm
Has a pulse

He doesn't tick the "bargain bucket" box.
They had a bid of circa £20m for him in the Summer... we might be in League 1 soon.

seargent would be a brilliant signing for us for me we need that type of striker plus a target man striker

provided their the correct loans i think we will be ok what were really lacking in the team is pace all over the pitch our play is far too slow and ponderous and gives opponents an age to set up against us

Aye we ain't gonna be dropping big bucks on Sargent. He could have been one we targeted had there been no VAR at wembley.

I expect we won't just get loans in, in Jan. But can't see us going out and spending big on fees.

We clearly are lacking up top though in options. Obv. if we can get Campbell back in form, Ings and Bamford up to speed then you can argue we do.
Cannon seems just consistently low on confidence. I fear that he just won't be a success here but you never know. Goals can change strikers. Don't score for ages and they can look shocking. Go on a run and they start getting the rub of the green too like lucky deflections to go in too.

I would love to know what the recruitment team and Selles thought though for striker options this summer. It was spectacular failure given we signed 12 players.
They were keen to let Moore go. Thats' fine, despite him flourishing at Wrexham. But we didn't seem to target much else. McBurnie started the season off really well at Hull but has picked up injuries. But he would have made sense too.
Think Carlton Morris would have made alot of sense too. And even Josh Windass on a free if he would have entertained swapping over from the dark side.

This suggestion may have commanded my attention a couple of years ago but not any more.

I reckon Windass would have suited us quite well with Wilder in charge.
And Morris would have too.
