My Mrs who is a Wednesday bastard watched the game yesterday (she had little choice). Even she noticed we were referred to as 'Sheffield' nearly all the time.

I could have gone down all sorts of arrogant and cocky angles. Didn't. Kept the peace instead. Got a kiss. No biggie.
Where was the kiss!!!???

I know they’re the biggest media darlings in world football and we’ve been in the footballing wilderness for too many years. But calling your team “United” is usually seen as an endearing term used by the clubs fans. But when Sheffield United v Manchester United is the fixture in question, the phrase “United” should never be used by pundits or media in general to reference either club.
I must admit the Mancs fans themselves generally do call us Sheffield United

I could never live with a Wendy, no I just couldn't.

The lass at Wolves today with Matt Murray on sunday football finished by saying to Kamara tell Chris Wilder we love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've got the best manager in the Premier league and our own fans are saying we won't win the league.

In response to 'is it Liverpool, City, Leicester City or Chelsea?' he said don't forget about Sheffield United who are {playing well/have been excellent}.
No one else talked about us

if he’s seriously suggesting we can win the title then that is a clear and obvious error and his comments need checking by VAR!

Even my piggy mate commented over the weekend that the wider world is starting to take note, saying how surprised he was that his Spurs pal knew all about the way we played and expected a tough game.

Mourinho has had a soft spot for us since we were last in the Premier League and its also nice to hear his comments. We'll see how they all talk about us after the Man U game.

We're a long way behind 4th and i doubt we'll keep up the pace as we're bound to pick some injuries up. However, we have a squad now and we're playing far fewer games than in the Championship, so our players will be having plenty of recovery time between games. This will really help in the busier times like in December.

Laura woods ,probably the best up and coming football corespondent around

Also like how he calls us “Sheffield”.

He’s genuinely never heard of the pigs, has he?

I think I now understand why we sometimes get called Sheffield by pundits and it is because of that reason. Some pundits have not been paying any attention to Wednesday or ever had cause to pay attention to them because they focus on recent and current Premier League clubs only.

That isn't actually meant as disrespect to Wednesday either because it is pretty clear the Premier League operate in its own little bubble. Very few pundits at the start of the season had paid any attention at all to what was going on in the Championship last season. These pundits will start to forget the likes of Pompey, Wigan, Bolton soon and barely remember anything about them or what they did when they were in the PL.

Despite the fact he looks so much older without his hair and my none football loving girlfriends will no longer ask 'who's he' in a way that's far to worrying...music to my ears...Porktalk will be in meltdown with stuff like that. One team in Sheffield, there's only one team in Sheffield, one team in Sheffield and the City is ours...clearly as it always has been.

I hope his hair grows back by the time we play them...
