Premier League clubs just have wads of spare cash floating in through the window don't they?
Yep they do Everton are rolling in it and we sold em a highly promising youngster for ten bob !

This is just them looking after one of their own and in a sport that has absolutely no morals why not if you can afford to do it ?

I thought their new owner was Iranian, not Columbian?

I predict, if Everton sign Jose Baxter and he plays for them successfully in the Premier League, it'll be made into a Hollywood Blockbuster, to rival When Saturday Comes.

It's got to be a choice between Robert Downey Jr and Charlie Sheen for the lead role, but who would play Koemen, Clough, McCabe etc etc? :)

How come every Baxter thread on here degenerates into drug puns?

Anyway, I'm sure that it was a bitter pill to swallow when Jose's Blades contract was cancelled. But if Everton feel he's worth taking a shot on, I hope that he can finally fulfill his potential.

Someone on here suggested in jest that Koeman could be his dealer. Well, probably not but our friends from the Netherlands tend to be more liberal on drugs than us Brits. I can imagine Dutch Ronnie lovin it up on the happy pills in his younger days. More so than Allardyce or Dyche, at least.

It's not like they're signing him to play in the Premier League, he'll probably be getting paid next to nowt and it's just a nice way to try and keep him out of trouble. Like Unsworth says, if he gets himself sorted he can go back to play in the lower divisions, this just takes a bit of the pressure off him having to sign straight for a League 1 side and perform immediately. A nice gesture from Everton.

Ron >>>> Amsterdam <<<< Jose

Direct three times a day from John Lennon Airport.

They wanted to use Billy Corkhill, but he's suddenly rocked-up as Lawrence's gay lover down Emmerdale.

Howard's spinning.....

Haven't watched Emmerdale for years. Last time I did it looked like it would benefit from having another Plane dropped on the place.

Unsworth says.
"We want to help because that is the snort of club we are. He is one of our own, but I have said to Jose, in no uncertain terms, that this is your last chance."

Even if they pay him £1k a week for 2 years, wouldn't they be doing more good donating £100k to local drugs awareness charities? Something which may give a 2nd chance to many, as opposed to a 4th chance to one?

Have him back in a heart beat. If Wilder can turn coutts round I think he could turn a more talented player in Baxter around.

Excellent news that a premier league club has given him ANOTHER chance. Doesn't make me want to eat my own face at all....

He obviously doesn't deserve another chance, but it is a great gesture from Everton helping out one of their own, shows they have genuine loyalty and sense of community.
I certainly wouldn't worry about money either, he'll be on what our under 23's are getting, or less.

Meow meow. Lots of catty comments on here. Let's hope the Toffees haven't backed the wrong Horse or Jose doesn't Blow it and gets up to Speed quickly without making a hash of it. The Skag.

By the looks of this early PR shot they went with Al Pacino...

Don't think he reaaly deserves another chance but as others have said a very kind gesture by Everton for one of there ex youth players ,
A fit Baxter and with his head sorted out, he would still be a very good player
As others have said CW ( if baxtr hadn't been such an idiot ) could have prob sorted him out an he would be challenging Duffy for his role , would have probably been the perfect role for him also !

What is the better end-scene? Baxter scoring in the Premier League, or swinging from his garage ceiling?

Think you missed something;).
Anyway even if you did. Everton might well be using him for other purposes besides football and gaining something back from him in the process.

More "good luck to the lad" triteness. What the fuck is it with that sentiment?

Personally I hope he ends his days sucking cocks for the price of a cup of tea.
It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth but it may leave a salty taste in Jose's if Tyler Durdens wish comes true.
