Jose Baxter

The shit players finished in the play offs last season. We have strengthened the squad this season but something is a miss.

We've got rid of our best midfield player and replaced him with numerous others who can't hold down a first team place.

We don't have the two top goalscorers from last season, replaced by a couple of goals in a third of a season.

The new "improved" squad provided two additions from last season at the week-end (both full backs, both playing in midfield). I'll be well happy if we manage not to improve the squad further if that's the way forward.

Yeah, we took the one good player (Blackman) out and replaced him with shit.

Jose Baxter baby.

Still not totally sold on him. He still looks a bit heavy. But he played well enough today and his goals should have secured him a good run in the side, so let's see what he can do.

He's getting fitter and has improved game on game since Orient, he's still not fit enough though and I was surprised that Clough didn't bring him off yesterday instead of Porter as he was knackered.

I think hes got one of those running styles that makes him look knackered.

It was more the trying to breathe and the look on his face I was referring to, but I do know what you mean about the running style :)

I noticed that he struggled to defend from the front in the last 10 minutes. Defending from the front requires fitness and you have to have quick feet. Brandy has quick feet but he was on the left

He won't get fully match fit by coming off after60-80 mins. He's got to finish games. I also believe that strikers need to finish games - sharp and Ched got confidence doing this

Agreed. That comfort padding won't be shifted if Baxter plays an hour a week. I want to see him suffer. :)

Alternatively, they've all week to work on and improve his fitness. I don't want us to create chances late on and have a bloke too knackered to finish them off. When he's fit enough to play 90, play 90.

I see where you are coming from and I wasn't particularly annoyed with him staying on, I just thought at 85 mins, sitting deep and trying to keep the slender lead it might have made more sense to take off the most tired player and let him have the applause as he wandered off.

He'll take his applause when he's earnt it with a hat trick ;)

I always thought out of all the signings Weir made this lad had got something, unfortunately Weir managed to knock any talent out of him as he did with others

Wasn't he injured for much of the time?

Stating that Weir knocked talent out of players is unfair. Fitness and confidence fine, but talent? In 10 games?

Thought he linked up well with , Coady , and Flynn , in 2nd half needs to shift the veranda though as he looked knackered last 10 .

Yes to be fair it was probably confidence which in turn produced bad mistakes and performances. Another example was our defence which had been the meanest in the league for the last couple of seasons and started leaking goals with basically the same personnel

will come better the amounts of games he plays.
