Does anybody have any idea what's going on with him ?

looked like a right player towards the end of last season ?

cheers x

I think he is back at Watford and is possibly still injured.

I thought he had one excellent game towards the start of his loan spell before he tailed off a bit and i don't think there he made a great deal of difference and was very much similar to what we already had

back at watford .. hmmm
i liked him he seemed to have a good head on him for his age and was class at holding the ball up , solid player.
I would of liked to see him stay at the lane to be honest. Even with the injury.
Dissapointing that :(

A fee has been agreed for ages but we can't come to personal terms.

Either he or his agent wants a higher salary than we're prepared to pay him.

i see ... they can't expect us to rake out when hes injured aswell.
still i loved watching him , i want him in the squad :)

What i liked about him was his passes always found our players.
He also could hold the ball well and was good in a tackle.

The bro-in-laws brother, a Watford fan who was up to visit for the game yesterday, was saying we'd have done a lot better to buy O'Toole than Williamson, who he didn't rate at all.

Word on this yesterday was the Blades were messing about and the deal was off !

I believe it is actually linked to loyalty payments he is due from Watford.

They don't want to / can't afford to pay them.

As far as I know everything has been agreed with us and the player.

don't agree, he's no better than what we've got. another average, slow midfield player. If we are gonna sign another middy lets get Harper from Reading. He's been on the bench botht heir games and in my view is one of the best in his position in the division

Heard he came back for pre season about 2 stone overweight ( probably an exageration) , after that the blades who had agreed a fee called the deal off - may be temporary , maybe permanent

I can do without him to be honest. Looked good in his first game for us, but then totally disappeared after that. In terms of him being better than Williamson, read the WFC or GloryHorn forums and you'll see different. It's a real pity that he got such an injury before he could get in the team.

Harper (and his wages in particular) are well out of our price range sadly; plus, he's somewhat injury prone. I'm hoping for Jon Bostock, though his lack of height could be an issue.

On the contrary, he'll fit right in with our midfield concept...

Taken me a couple of days to get signed up, so couldn't post when this thread was created.

Personally I think he's toss. Runs about a lot, but doesn't control, or pass the ball very well.

doesn't control or pass the ball very well ?? jon jo otoole ??

Think you missed unfit, can't read a game, woeful excuse for a footballer and has all the traits of a Nick Montgomery without the aimless running around bit.

Depends what you want from a central midfield. Spoilers, who get in the way and break as many of our moves up as they do the oppositions, who may stop us losing the odd game, or footballers who can actually win matches, Lee Hendrie being the best example.

Wrong manager in charge for a team of footballers, and while he deserves credit for grinding results out, believe it or not we really could win games playing football and not just relying on spoiling tactics. Who knows, we may even get promoted playing that way as opposed to playing 4 5 1 in the big games and relying on big boot with no Plan B.

yeah you are right in some cases, i can't see how you think he was a bad player tho , he was solid , he could keep hold of the ball and he could make a pass. he was probably just as good if not better than monty at being strong and knocking players off the ball , blackie didnt give him the nickname bowling ball for nothing haha that's a bit harsh on him don't you think ?

haha wikipedia its shocking at how much stuff is wrong on there ! :)

Aye, I know. I actually managed to get my mates name on the back of a programme about a year ago just by editing wiki. Amazes me how companies are willing to take info from Wikipedia as gospel.
