Player Suggestion Jon Forte

This isn't a serious player suggestion because I can't see Oldham letting one of their better players on loan, but I just wonder how many of our fans would take Jon Forte over Sammon?! It says how desperate we are, no disrespect to Forte, that in my view, Forte would be a huge improvement on Sammon. Forte's got pace, and works hard and I think those two qualities alone put him above Sammon, who is one of the worst forwards I've ever seen at the Lane.

Ok I'm desperate, I'm bored and I'm a bit depressed over United right now, but I honestly still think Forte would give us something better than Sammon or even Done because Forte would compliment Sharp better. Forte is also a mate of Sharp and played for Adkins at Scunthorpe and Southampton.

He didn't work very hard the last time I saw him play in a Blades shirt. Neither did he score many goals under Adkins / alongside Sharp at Scunny and Saints. Also barely played this season and has scored about 2 or 3 goals in the last 12 months.

I'm not sure I would take him over Sammon, but that's not exactly a compliment to either player.

My point is I'm not saying we should sign Jon Forte. I'm using Forte as an example of a player who would definitely improve on Sammon, who has literally nothing going for him when he plays like he did on Saturday and for the vast majority of his spell with us. A player like Forte who has desire, work rate, the ability to run off the ball to receive the ball and to hassle defenders is a vast improvement on Sammon who just looks like he's not interested.

Forte scored 15 in 34 games last season for a struggling Oldham. This season's he's got 1 in 6 which isn't as good but he's only just come back from injury. If Forte would improve on Sammon surely there is someone we can get that would do a better job or we should consider DCL.

If we're going to take a squad place up with a forward that's better than both Sammon and Forte and that is going to be within reach then why not have a punt on a club free Ricardo Vaz Te, what we save on a transfer fee put on the wages to make him affordable, he would do a great job for us..........
So would Franck Moussa as others have mentioned.
