The more i think about it, the more it makes sense to appoint his as first team manager from within.
Last night we played some excellent well drilled football, and it was an absolute pleasure, and if he can get the youth team playing some of the best football seen at the Lane for donkeys years, then i can't see any reason why he can't replicate that with the first team squad.
With the crop of youth team players coming through, i think there is a better chance of them making the grade as quality first team players if there is some continuity, and having the same manager managing their progression to the first team seems to make make perfect sense, as we are in a position where we don't have a manager, and can pick whatever style of manager we want.
What i would do next season is gradually ease the youth team players in to the first team, and get them in alongside experienced pro's where they can gather experience and learn their trade. I also think Pembo has it in him to chance the culture of the club, whilst keeping us hard to beat, i think he could also get us playing a quick expansive passing game that would be attractive to watch.
If we was to appoint Pemberton as manager, i would also like to see someone come in as director of football to handle all aspect of contract talks, transfer negotiations and all the stuff that detracts a manager attention from what happens on the pitch.
As food for thought, Reading play Swansea in a couple of weeks, and both are managed by ex-youth team managers
