Outgoing? John Lunsdtram

Jags, with his wealth of experience could have been the difference the season, passing on his knowledge to the likes of Egan, O Connell and Bash. His presence around the dressing room alone could have been worth its weight in gold. So what’s a few million in his wages compared to staying in the Premier League? Lundstram is another matter. He has had a great season and his greedy, money grasping agent has put it into his head that he is a superstar as he scored a few goals and assisted a few more. As Jags is on 50k per week, the agent of Lundstram will have used this fact to get more money in the contract negotiations. That’s is that point that I am trying to make.

Do you really think he has had a great season?

.

He is / was. Before he joined us he was training with Burnley and they refused to match the 50k per week wage demands. So he came to us on a 1 year deal on those wages with a view to moving into coaching when his 1 year deal expired. He was on 75k per week at Everton.

Humour us then, how did you find out Jagielka's wages?

I just want him gone. Regardless of how good a player he is, and if you check back at my posts you’ll see I’ve been his biggest fan since we signed him. Defended him to a hilt, predicted this player would come out. But that’s not the point, I want rid of him. It’s about principal at this point. I don’t care if he goes to arsenal and gets 20 goals next season. If he thinks he’s better than this journey the club is going on, and he’s trying to tell wilder what time it is in terms of valuation and financial value, he can fuck off. Chris Wilder is the custodian of our football club, he is the bloke all the fans have trusted with the club and he treats the money as if it were his own. It makes a mockery of everything and sets an awful precedent if we allow this one bloke to override him. I honestly don’t care how good he is. The fact he’s a 7/10 ten a penny central midfielder is a plus because we can just go and get another, but again, even if was David silva I’d want rid.
This is the job of a football agent. Financially driven incentives. Zero loyalty, turn heads and move to a ‘better’ deal. But what is a better deal? Sitting on Everton’s bench with more cash in your pocket, playing in Scotland or holding out for your current club to pay more (annoying management and fans in the process). Wayne Rooney & Ronaldo did the same but so did Duffy....

True about Ronaldo and Rooney but they had more than just half a good season under their belt.

Same with Duffy I could at least see why he pushed his luck with regards to his contract. Multiple seasons of top draw performances with us and he thought that was worth a bit more. I do think had Duffy not pissed him off at the time Wilder would have offered him a better new contract once the season had started. He asked at the wrong time and wouldn’t let it drop.

Yes I do think he has had a great season only moose and McBurnie scored more and only moose and enda assisted more so in terms of output he has had a great season his efforts won us vital points. Why would anyone want rid of a player that is amongst your top producers. Duffy asked for a contract in the wrong way. Maybe his agent is handling this the wrong way too. If Lunny wants to go then thanks I will/would welcome him back just like Deano. because without his efforts too last season would have been a lot more nerve wracking than it was. Why shouldn't anyone ask for what they think they are worth?

Where have you actually SEEN that Sheffield United are paying him £50K a week?

Well, you're entitled to your opinion, but I must say that, IMO, your definition of what it takes to have a great season are very different from mine.

3 assists from a midfielder all season is poor

There's not many clubs knocking down the door is there? Looks like we might get stuck with a player lacking enthusiasm and seeing his last year out

Fleck got 2 assists - was he poor?

I think midfielders that are there to provide assists who only provide 2 or 3 assists all season, possibly aren't doing as well as they should in their position
There are those slagging off the strikers for not scoring enough and some defend the strikers by saying they haven't had the chances.
Tells it's own story

The assists were only one part of his game. And as I said only moose and enda got more. So 22 members of our squad got less. He scored 5 of our 39 goals he was one of our top performers yet he is slated as a money grabbing b@stard by some. If he had got the same stats as fleck we would have finished lower that's how valuable his contribution was. As you say its about opinion and with lunny I feel its often about perception rather than facts, some fans don't like him so he must be crap even though he was one of our better players last year.

2 of lunnys assists instantly spring to mind away at Everton for moose and home to Norwich for Billy's header, that's the quality of the guy, assists are an unfair start because it relys on others to complete them, he probably would have more if we had Aguero or Salah up front

Are some midfielders required to provide assists and others aren't?

It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Perhaps there is a queue of EPL sides knocking on our door and it just hasn't played out yet.

He was pretty decent last season, but had looked very average for 2 years in the Championship.

Like to see him stop gave us something a bit differnt when he came on and a eye for goal

some fans don't like him so he must be crap even though he was one of our better players last year.

Think it’s more the fact that we bought him from league 1 where he excelled.

Then he’s spent 3 years at Sheff Utd....and it’s tricky to judge properly.
When he’s been hard working but not good enough for 2.6 years (most of it at Championship level)
but then for 0.4 years shown that he can cope at PL level...played really well...but most of his best performances have been as sub.
When ever he’s started in the PL he’s been OK but nothing special.

Lunny isn’t crap but neither is he one of our better players...he’s a squad player whose energy usually gives us a big lift when he comes on.
He’s also an all rounder....capable of tackling, passing and shooting. He’s a poor mans Steven Gerrard.

He was on fire for 3 months and his agent is probably basing his contract negotiation on those 3 months
If he thinks he’s so good then it’s his right to leave and try another club but I’m always weary of players that want to be judged on 3 months of their career but forget the rest of their career (Wilder probably thinks the same).

Lunny obviously has potential (so deserves a decent pay rIse) but he’s not produced enough yet to be rewarded too much.
Its highly possible he could end up being a 3 month wonder.....he receives his big contract that sets him up for life....then hardly plays in the PL again.
In a few years ends up playing back in league 1......remember last season based on his peformances virtually every Blade thought he was leaving due to him struggling to impress even at a lower Champiomship level.

Is that Nixon's full transfer rumour insight for us this weekend? Hardly earth shattering news that. I could have come up with that nonsense. A player in the last year of his contract might stay...as there's been no bids.... No shit sherlock.

Nixon does seem to have fuk all clue about who our targets are this window. All smoke and mirrors from the lad, and insinuations but not a lot of actual names.

Despite what Nixon has said it seems to be true.
Lundstram has made himself look a right cunt 😂

Yep. Couldn't agree more. Imagine thinking your top dog then no fucker comes in for you.. icing on the cake for me is if he gets offered less than we are in Jan.

Oh not nobody, fucking RANGERS 😂 I think I’d rather have no interest than have an SPL side interested

In your opinion, bloke trying to get as much as he can while he's playing just like we all do in any walk of life. GLTTL.
But made himself look a twat in doing so because he’s had nobody willing to pay a fee for him. Know your worth, if it wasn’t for Chris he’d still be swimming around L1 and at the very most the Championship.
