So that's 1 through the door what left?

Didn't CW say 1 CH 2 Middle of park and 1 up top? As well as the obvious one. Ched battling with fitness already so may defo need a striker.

I fort e' ad gotten nicked off of uz!?!?!

I dont really know much about Lundstram and much less I know what Wilder is trying to do with signing him.

Does Lundstram mean that Coutts and Fleck will push further upfield?

Will we be breaking up the Coutts/Fleck duo to accommodate JL?

Is he an advanced replacement?

I will always trust Wilder with how he runs things, but I can't see what the idea is on this occasion.

Presumably CW is working on the basis that Coutts and Fleck won't play every game.

He chose us over the mighty Bristol City?! Didn't fancy the play-off push then?

I'm very pleased with this signing.

I think I've only seen him a couple of times for Oxford, but I remember seeing him a few times England U19s.

He's big and strong, very composed on the ball, an excellent passer and has a fairly decent shot on him. The closest player I could compare him to in terms of style is Yaya Toure (but quite obviously not at that level.)

I'm sure, like others have mentioned, we've bought him with the intention of him challenging Coutts for a shirt.

Really disappointing. I was looking forward to him signing for some other club so I could cap-doff them and disparage United.

It rather dents my "Wilder in bitter conflict with board" and we're going to "lose him" onslaught too.

Oh what, oh what ever shall I do?

A squad full of quality players?

To be fair to City, they've got quite a lot going for them, Johnson's a highly rated young manager and Bristol's a decent place to live but we've got the Lane and Wilder. Any L1 player that came to the Lane last season must've thought 'I'd fucking love to play here every week'.

ITK......

Well done. When can we expect Linehan?

I'm really keen we don't miss out on this one because, although I've never seen the lad play, I hate Chris Basham so much and really want him to lose his place, just for spite.

This cannot be right our tight fisted board will not sanction a move, they are dragging it out, itk's have said so, I am not fooled by this.

A sensible investment.

Wilder still seems to be interested in Leonard too but I think it's far more likely we'll now bide our time and try for him in January or next summer.

We have enough numbers in midfield now but maybe still need an enforcer. But it's nothing urgent. The only position we need to strengthen before the start of the season is GK.

I confess I saw Lundstram as a stalking horse /second choice for Leonard. However, I am happy to admit that although I attended t'lane last season I don't recollect either of them as being "stand out". They could be chalk and cheese as far as I know. At least we got a body in that CW seems to want. Whether this is his Hussey moment or his Jake Wright will be interesting to see.

Or his Fleck.

One of the first things Wilder did was transfer listing Coutts. It gave Coutts a clear message that Wilder wouldn't let him get away with stuff that Adkins and Clough did.

This summer Coutts was awarded with a new contract, but this signing means he can't get complacent if he wants to keep being successful and play regularly. It hopefully means we don't have to change things around too much if Coutts gets an injury. We'll have to see if Lundstram can be a good option alongside Coutts too, if Fleck is unavailable.
