I have to say that after a slowish start - Egan has slotted into the middle of the defence very well and seems to read and cut out balls into the box very comfortably.

An excellent piece of business by CW.

I think he maybe has a goal in him too - wouldn't it be great if we could recreate those great days of Eddie Colquhoun nodding in those brilliant corners by Woody?

Two corner OGs are a start I suppose ...

Egan is absolutely solid . A great piece of business to bring him here and for me, he's the best defender at the Club by some way.

Decent feet too, plays some really good passes, good control. The view from Brentford made him out to be some hoofer with a big forehead for clearances.

Great buy.

Pinged a right ball FORWARD yesterday.

Somebody said he hadn’t got that in him after the leeds match

Reads the game well, brave, pretty quick and a decent passer of the ball ( particularly long balls). A Conservative estimate would find him worth double what we paid for him

I think he’s a good stopper but negative and too fond of rolling a 5 yard pass backwards and sideways. Likes to play “to me -to you” with O’Connell too much imo.

Eddie Colquhoun, brings back memories, loved it when he set off on a forward foray and then got a nose bleed five yards into enemy territory!
Scored some spetacular own goals, to the point that when we conceded a corner you wanted to know who was marking Eddie!

The one that was completely Dean Henderson’s fault?
I'm totally not saying it wasn't at all, and I know the ball should've just been left to go into touch, but it shows the weakness's of the rear guard.
Not saying it was anybody other than Henderson's fault.

Wasn't there a thread the other day with some berk saying we should drop him for Stearman?!?

Goes to show how volatile we are as a bunch of fans.

For me, it's confusing as hell. Individually, Egan, Basham, JOC and Henderson are excellent - yet keeping clean sheets is still tough for us and the one thing which is hurting us. We saw on Saturday how much easier it is when we don't let in daft goals.

I wasn’t sure of his age so I jumped on Wikipedia and turns out our birthdays are on the same day, albeit a good 11 years apart. I like him even more now.

Not only a warrior but an underrated ball player as well Quality signing and is most likely by how Wilder talks about him Captain-elect. I will forever laugh at Brentford fans saying they robbed us when we bought him to then turning around and saying they needed someone like him.

One day, you, and a boatload of others will understand WHY this is so, why it’s done and what it achieves.

UTB
I think Egan has strengthened us and is a good signing. I just think he could be a bit more offensive on the ball at times. There are occasions when he could advance forward with the ball in possession but he opts for the safe option and takes play back. That’s all I’m saying!

You need to take into consideration what his instructions are from Wilder and Knill. We are already an adventurous side with attacking defenders maybe they want at least one of the back line to put defensive duties above everything else?

Forwards are given a bit of latitude to make it up as they go along but defenders need to stick to the plan and perhaps that's what he's doing.

"I think he could be a bit more offensive on the ball at times".....

What, you mean like, "Bollocks to the lot of yer"?

And so, you believe we've taken enough points from games then??
We could always do with more points.
The defenders could make less mistakes and the forwards could miss less chances.
I don't think either constitute 'weakness's' - it's just what happens in football ;)

So our inability to score isn't a weakness, thank God for that, we probably won't need a new striker then, I'm glad you cleared that up for me though, as I was starting to believe everyonelse!
