Yes that was a really interesting watch - got to pull him up towards the end though when he said he supported "United" when he was a kid !!

Thanks for posting this, great interview. Strongly recommended watch for all Blades.

Stumbled across a decent interview with John Egan, talking about his career so far. It's an hour or so long, but it's a good listen. One of my favourite current Blades, so it's good to hear that he loves it at the Lane.

An absolute legend, an honour that we both grew up in the same area and played for the same GAA club, but me many years before him and him way more successfully too!

My friends are still involved in Bishopstown GAA and he always makes time when he's back in Cork to meet with the kids who are thankfully way more aware that they have a star in their midst who plays for Sheffield United!!

Future captain.

Absolutely agree.

We have a new international manger now, Stephen Kenny, who most here wouldn't have heard of, but he is a huge fan of Mr. Egan.

He was quoted today as saying he can't believe that JE has only 2.5 full international caps for us (and Matt Doherty only has 3!).

In his opinion, Egan should have been first choice for Ireland as soon as he signed for The Mighty Blades.

I am a fan of Stephen Kenny too (even though he broke my local club's heart repeatedly when he was manager of Dundalk!), I'm delighted he's our international manager now.

The amount of leaders we have out on the pitch is incredible, just about all of them could wear the armband and this is something I can't ever recall from a previous Blades squad.

Very true mate. Or any squad, anywhere for that matter. We're truly fortunate. It's no wonder they collectively step up and take on shared responsibility.

Really?? Their caps are that low? That's ridiculous. Two brilliant players. Who's getting picked instead?

Future ROI and Blades captain.

Need to correct myself, JE has 8 caps and MD has 9, but i think the low numbers were for competitive games.

Still disgracefully low for both players!

John Egan epitomises exactly what a Captain should be.

A leader, a great spirit that is infectious to the team and came up with a great song that summed the club up on winning promotion.
