Just heard he's been released by Man U think we should give him another go he'd cost us nowt!

I just don't think he has the application to make it as a player in L1. Too often he was a passenger, lacked awareness of what was going on around him and despite a couple of cracking goals he doesn't have a good strike rate. Three goals from 23 appearances in L1 isn't good enough (albeit he was probably hauled off in most of those games)

Not for me, would rather try other youth loans from Everton and Man U if they are available.

Given he is 20 now and would be included in SCMP wages now I think he'd be a waste of a wage.

No I wouldn't take him back, I'm not surprised he as been released, he had a promising start and looked decent for a few games but went way of the boil.

Thought I'd get a torrent of abuse for even suggesting his return!

No, they've released him because it isn't good enough, and I can confirm he isn't after watching him last season.

Bit of difference between not being good enough for Man U and not being good enough to improve on what an average third tier squad has on offer.

I think he showed flashes of ability that, if nurtured, could make him a good player in the future. Get him to realise that professional football isn't all about trying to beat five men and score a screamer every time you get the ball and I think he could do very well. He was as quick as any player I've seen in a long time.

As it is, I doubt he'd want to come back to us. He was hardly a fan favourite and his introduction as a substitute was met with jeers a few times. I doubt we hold a fond place in his heart.

First impresions was pretty impressive but then the real Cofie evolved lazy and lacking the desire to succeed.

The kid had a great opportunity here and didnt take it

Ability is nothing without the right attitude and application. Cofie thought we were beneath him and strutted about like he was 'Billy Big Bollocks' from Old Trafford, well lets see how far that attitude gets him down the job centre?

I guess someone will give him a contract but personally I'd be surprised if he was still playing professionally in five years.

Sadly, I feel the same about one of our home made young strikers. Some, however, would have him leading the line as first choice, notwithstanding that he has never scored a single goal in an adult league and has been less than prolific against other kids.

Strange world, isn't it?

[I wouldn't have Cofie again either. One taste was enough!]

I reckon that's a reference to Ironside.

And I agree if he gets his chance under Weir he must produce much like Jake Cassidy did at Tranmere if not he's got to go.

You're worried he'll become the new Montgomery aren't you? That he will go on to play 300 games over the next decade for United with only you noticing he's not very good?

I'm sure our coaching and management will manage what Man U's couldn't

There's an irony though in Pinchy's mocking of Ironside's failure to score given his repeated eulogies about Dave Kitson. Kitson moved to Cambridge when he was 21 but didn't score until his 6th start for them. Ironside has started 2 games for United at 19 but Pinchy has already written him off.

Personally, I think Ironside should be looking at a spell on loan in League 2: possibly at York or Accrington given the connections those clubs have with us (I am assuming that Cresswell will join York in the summer in a player/coach role). I wouldn't write him off yet.

I'd like to see involved pre season get a few goals under his belt.

I certainly haven't written him of but I don't agree with him going out on loan in the 4th tier it's already ruined Harriot.Chappell,Tonne

If all those evil flies come out of his mouth will he start scoring?

I've just been for a shite. It was one of those that didn't really want to just pop out, but after a bit of straining it, eventually, hit the bowl. This took about 5 minutes and not a little pain (certainly more than having a baby I reckon).

As a consequence I'm now sweating more than I saw Mr Cofie in all his SUFC career and I'd sooner repeat the process than see him back in our team.

Cofie will have to grind out some other career elsewhere as in my view he is a has bean
Got lightly roasted by third division defenders so re-signing him would probably put the Mocha's on us.

See ya Latte

You sound almost disappointed. Have a word with Darren if you're that way inclined, I'm sure he'll have some good tips for you.....

The way things turned out disappointed me with Cofie you think you have got a world beater for a season but you end up with a tosser same with Kitson

I wonder who will have scored more goals by the end of their careers. Kitson or Ironside? Personally, I haven't the slightest doubt. I've nothing against Ironside and wish him well. My criticism is aimed at those of us who pretend he is far better than he is, simply because he is young and tries hard. It's not enough.

Will he ever be good enough? Time will tell, but he needs to get cracking sooner rather than later. I'm not holding my breath.

Got a good touch and uses his body well, but far too slow in both thought and deed to ever make it.

I don't agree with sending 19 year olds out on loan, Christ if they can't hold their own in Division 3 by that age, they're simply not good enough.

Billy big bollox can stay as far away from us as possible IMO.

Spot on

And Mcqire is at this moment is JUST good enough as is the keeper for Div 3
