Bamford has been a success in my opinion, but he's only here for a short time. Should we give him a longer contract?

I'd say yes, 100% to be honest.
Should we give him a longer contract… yes… will he sign it… if he has aspirations above the Championship and better wages then no….. on the one hand I can see why it was a contract until January but on the other I think we will regret not signing him to the end of the season from the outset.

I wouldn't blame him to go somewhere else and other clubs will certainly be sniffing..he's in form and we've got him fit sor someone! Him and seriki have a lovely partnership

Isn't he a Middlesbrough fan and he lives in Yarmouth? Would be amazed if he isn't playing for them come Jan 2.
He’s a Forest fan. Certainly lived in Yarm when he was at Boro, quite possibly still there at it’s not too bad a commute to Thorp Arch.

Can only think that it’s the wages that my might be an issue , other than that from a Utd perspective should be a no brainer . He’s certainly put himself back in the shop window & if can’t agree terms he’ll have no issue finding another club

Make him captain. Tanganga doesn’t rally the troops when we’re struggling.
Bring back Keith Eddy, best captain we’ve ever had.

Of course we want to give him a contact but that’s not the issue.

The question would be how much are United willing to give him?

Next season if we fail to be promoted then we need to massively cut costs, this means signing Bamford becomes diffiicult, almost impossible to afford.

We’ll be relying on receiving big bids for Hamer and Peck etc.

Another option is we do a Chansiri, keep being ambitions paying out big wages then receive a points deduction in 2 or 3 years for ignoring FFP rules.

Personally I expect him to receive other offers and we won’t be able to match their bids.

Re Bamford -The salary isn't the issue from what I understand. Apparently it is the length of the contract that is the sticking point.

Re Hamer: i can't see a big bid being submitted for him but, if he isn't prepared to sign a new contract, he needs to move on in Janaury
