As everyone says he comes across as a really nice bloke. (As a side note he doesn't take this out on the pitch with him - not averse to the odd bit of "professionalism".)

Near impossible to sit through Alan Biggs - his interview with Jam was excruciating, and this isn't much better - (and I reckon Toby Perkins MP who must be New Labour posts here with the Reactionary  Miserati :() but skipping on to the Beardy parts we get something like:
  • wanted to play first game of the season :)
  • very positive about Adkins
  • grew up as a Stoke fan
  • affection for the club (and the city) - partly bc of how he'd been treated at Cardiff and the contrast when he came here
  • unfinished business at BDTBL
  • liked Cloughie
  • wants to be on the journey to better places
  • awkward question about money - handles it well
  • near 50% pay cut taken - very poor from Biggs though, embarrassing
  • need grit and determination
  • hard for the younger players (who might not have experience of adversity) atm but older more experienced players need to see them through
  • enjoys playing CH and RB (seems genuine)
  • discussion about Murphy (not the type to kick up a fuss)*
  • understands the challenge of games like Shrewsbury - when it goes wrong - and how some fans react
  • not a massive talker but wants to lead by example - reinforced later at greater length
  • opposition teams clearly raise their games - we have to acknowledge and use that to raise our levels
Comes across as genuine, experienced, professional, passionate, and intelligent about football.

And the point about the desire to lead by example really can't be overstated, runs throughout his whole approach.

All in all a great interviewee.

*This part can be used to reinforce whatever your previously held beliefs are. Either way.

Can't really fault Brayford at all. What you see is what you get and he seems to really care about the club otherwise he like he says he could have moved to a Championship club.

I thought the MP was genuine. Not the usual platitudes from him, but the real frustration born of watching our lot play. Kudos.
The MP is genuine about the Blades, I can promise you :)

I read summat about that a while ago, he said he was in a bad place at Cardiff, and it was really doing his head in. I totally related to that when I read it, based on a bitter experience I had when I was working. I then got a job move from the job from hell to somewhere that, while not perfect, was way better and I never totally lost my loyalty to the new place after that, even though it was still shit at times (saw out my career there as it happened, though I doubt JB will). I think that explains the loyalty he still has for us, and also the great form he was in when he first came in on loan.
