A ever, I'd be behind the sales if they were part of sensible transfer business both ways.

If they leave and that's it, as per Murphy, then it will be bad business.

As it is, DCL has done nothing, Brayford is a complete drain on resource as a right back, and it's unclear where Adams will play.

Sales could quite easily form part of business where we come out stronger. But history tells most of us that we fuck this up every time, hence the angst.

I'll wait until all business is concluded before my meltdown. :)

Why is he a drain on resources as a right back ? Full backs could be massively influential this season with the way Wilder is lining up to play ,perhaps the most important positions in the team.

In excess of £500,000 a year in wages alone to cover the right back position in England's third division, when you are weak elsewhere, is utter lunacy.

How do you know that is his wage ,and if he helps take us up surely its just as important as anyone elses wages no matter what position he plays. Personally I think we need a big wage spending on a keeper.

It's either Brayford , Che , or DCL who require to be sold to bring additional revenue into the club , to complete the rebuilding . We are 60% there , which to me will show in the result at Bolton . Ie either a 3 nil win or loss.

How Wilder will set us up , is with having 2no influential full backs both for stopping and creating chances at either end . Unfortunately Brayford would be another player that we didn't appreciate how good he was , until he's not there and gone .

Integral part of the team . Let's keep it that way . Every position on the pitch is important this season , we cannot have any weak links .

Che and DCL we can do without IMO.

Wigan can fuck off

Not for me. I've no doubt Morsey's turned us down for money, and we will have offered far less than we're paying Brayford in a far less influential position.

Given finite resource, it's clear that Brayford's signing displaces a few other key ones. And I'm sure I've well underestimated at £500,000 a year. The huge transfer fee is already lost, he'll go for free.

I'm with you on the keeper.

I would imagine Brayford has a full preseason behind him and would improve his performance over last year he has the talent.

As far as deleting his twitter account ,ask Clinton how he should put the blame for that on the Russians.

But disappointing to see so many who'd be happy to see the back of Brayford. He's been so unlucky with injuries since he turned down bigger money to drop a division in an effort to help us get out of here, which he did because of the rapport he had with he club and the fans. He got shifted to centre half for much of his career with us and has had a couple of terrible injuries, it would be nice if we rallied around the bloke and spurred him on, he is one of only two or three players I genuinely like. Nothing would please me more than to see him marauding up and down that flank again for us.

Even aside from my man-love for Brayford, we never replace players properly. It's why year on year we have gotten worse and worse. The board hasn't changed. Why does anybody think the transfer policy has? We'll sell at least Ché to fund our signings thus far.

I really don't get this 'far less influential position' .

Right back or midfield? Really?

Take one of a number of positions and ask them to play right back, they do a job. Flynn and Basham being recent examples.

The reverse cannot be said for midfielders.

Full back is the easiest position on the field to cover.

Even those that don't agree can't dispute that an "in excess of £3,000,000" package for a fullback in the third division is just rank stupidity, unless you've got the cash to follow that through throughout. We clearly haven't.

Some sad fuckers also done this...

Think we now know what Pitsmoor pig has been up to lately,

It depends on how a team plays and the formation and tactics. Would you say midfielders were influential in a Blackwell team ,Walker and Rose were Englands best players in the Euros ,full backs are vital to a good team. I completely disagree that full back is the easiest position to cover ,I would say its the hardest ,even from personal experience.

We can agree to differ, though most evidence points to it being the case - but it won't be our only disagreement these days, will it? :)

Whatever the position, the point about his cost to the club, and as suggested by other posters the opportunity cost, is just too large for third division club with too many holes in the squad to bear.

And me getting stuck on Brayford, who I respect as a footballer and person on and off he field, isn't what I'm after. I'd rather save it for Coutts, who I despise on and off it. :)

Why , have you met him ?

Seems the most logical thing here would be to engineer a swap Brayford for Morsy plus cash our way.

Then go and get Reece Webara who inexplicably has no club despite being in the team of the year.

Then use the cash to get a strong right sided centre half in.

Easy this management lark :D

I read up on wabarathe other day when someone mentioned him.

What's with all the short contracts? Might have something to do with him not being snapped up.

oh just read something on a Wigan forum about him being ill. No details but I think that's why.

I know the forum frowns upon members calling other members "daft cunt" etc, but surely in these circumstances exceptions can be made!!??
