Spoke to a Rangers mate at work and he’s not been too impressed with Rothwell at Ibrox.

If he can get back to his old Championship form then hopefully it will be a good signing.

Did he say what he's been struggling with? I thought he'd rip the SPL a new one

Said he wasn’t a midfielder who would drive forward and create chances.

Could it allow a formation similar to this where we have the 2 DM's push the width to AM's Hamer/COH/Peck and have Bamford dropping with Cannon/Campbell up top. LB & RB could get forwards too.

yeah know that but not anticipating all 4 to be on the pitch at the same time but for tough away games riedawald and rothwell would be a very strong pair of defensive midfielders

Its all about more options! Doubtful all 4 would be on the pitch at the same time.

Maybe he'll be fired up to prove Rangers were wrong and thus a great pick up. Not one for the now and future though. Just the now. I'm sure CWAK know what they're doing. I hope.....

Would depend on Peck and Davies - if they aren't back anytime soon it would be a great addition. IF Wilder does expect them both back I don't see the point.

Exactly this plus he is out of contract at the end of this season too so it's almost like having a replacement. If he stayed at Rangers and became good, his fee would rise massively and the likes of us would be down the pecking order.

with the interest in rothwell i wonder if were thinking of ending tom davies's contract even if we dont i cant see us offering him another contract next july rothwell would be a fantastic signing imo

100% - Rothwell would be a good signing for us at this level.

Sadly - Tom Davies’s career is over at Championship (or above level)….. his body is no longer up to the grind of top level professional football. I feel for him - but he’s no good for our club.
