Under this regime? lets not hold our breath!Rothwell will be a very good signing. For next season. Its clear that hes a decent player who needs a much higher level of fitness. Hopefully he will get the necessary fitness by August.
It was like a lightbulb went off in his head after 15 minutes. He realised if he kept it simple then he wouldn't give the ball away.Much better today after another dodgy first 15-20 minutes. Grew into the game and played well.
It was same vs Bristol city, terrible 1st hslf but 2nd half be was much better and played well.Much better today after another dodgy first 15-20 minutes. Grew into the game and played well.
Man of the match for me. Always showed for ball and most of his passes were progressive. A full 90 minutes as well. Let's hope it continues.
MOM today after a rusty first 20 minutes or so he was excellent
I certainly did expect it
Rothwell was MOTM today helped by Hull’s tactics of letting him have all the space and time in the world to pick his passes, rather like Norwood you have press him and not give him time on the ball.
I think Wilder sees him as next season’s Norwood / Coutts player let’s hope he still has the legs for it cos 18 months back he was one of the best players at this level.

Agreed and he was absolutely pleasure to watch, but ultimately his legs had gone and with him been marked out the game he became ineffective & got strolled passed, he couldnt defend or close down anymore (in the prem) and became a passenger.Let’s hope so.
We have still never replaced Norwood, what a player he was and was instrumental in our success from 2018-2023. 2 promotions, 9th place premier league finish, FA Cup Semi final.
I’ll never understand why some fans didn’t appreciate him, one of the best central midfielders I’ve seen us have in 35 years of watching us.
I gave McGuiness a 10 in the player ratings just for getting Lundstram bookedDefinitely MOM.
McGuinness worth a mention too.
I love it! Classic how he grabbed his foot to make Lundstrum start crying.I gave McGuiness a 10 in the player ratings just for getting Lundstram booked
Norwood just made us tick. Almost as soon as he first set foot on the pitch with us. We’d been treading water since the Coutts injury. When Norwood joined things made sense again. Wilder chanced across the overlapping full backs idea. He was fortunate to come across Ollie Norwood too. You make your own luck - to Wilder’s credit he found that formation and he signed Norwood - but I can’t help but feel we’ve been missing a similar stroke of inspiration under him.Let’s hope so.

Daniel FarkePlayed well yesterday but I keep thinking of Daniel Farke every time Rothwell has the ball as he looks like him from a long distance!
