What was he getting in Sainsbury's? Did you ask him why he didn't go there first, before the food was ready?I did say 'including', there were obviously more dishes..... it was about 30 years ago.
Aaaaah Glenn Cockerill……… the perfect replacement for either Fleck or Norwood in today’s team (assuming Hecky doesn’t stick him on the bench)
High praise indeed. He was one of the only players who used to tear us apart (when he played for Lincoln City) and got even better after he signed for us. Then he went onto better things being a regular high performer in Division 1 with Southampton.Terrific player - definitely in my top 5 of Blades midfielders I ever saw .
To put that in perspective , two of the others are Jimmy Hagan and TC .
He was living at Greenhill at the time, but had been travelling to the Chesterfield Sainsburys for his grocery shopping every week, until I pointed out there was one literally just over the hill from the Chinese Takeaway. What was he getting in Sainsbury's? Did you ask him why he didn't go there first, before the food was ready?
A fine player with some similarities as you suggest .
Between the two , Glen just edges it for me as being the more complete all round footballer .
I reckon he'd be an improvement on Berge too. Wonderful footballer.Aaaaah Glenn Cockerill……… the perfect replacement for either Fleck or Norwood in today’s team (assuming Hecky doesn’t stick him on the bench)
Terry Curran?Terrific player - definitely in my top 5 of Blades midfielders I ever saw .

Yes, he was a terrific player in a fairly awful team (can you imagine him and Sander alongside each other ?)I reckon he'd be an improvement on Berge too. Wonderful footballer.
Saw John Cofie at the Adelphi last night really lovely lad loved him at the lane - his wife’s also sparking to the eye UTB FTP
Yeah, went to work for Kenco.Didn't he retire from football early?
He played for dads army?Played football with his Dad in the Army when he was on loan with us. Told me how Ferguson would only allow young players to have cars with small engines so he only drove a basic car
Can you prey tell explain to means the ins and outs of a gonk?EDIT: ...whoops, turned out it was a gonk!
Another great thread delivered to you by Wanker Post.
Looks like someone is a bit jealous at not seeing a 90s player in one of the cities top chippies / pubs / woods.
Looooool look how random I am thinking of this random player and this random location and making up this proper daft story to tell everyone.
Bit unfair on knowsnowt, at least he has photographic evidence of his story.Looooool look how random I am thinking of this random player and this random location and making up this proper daft story to tell everyone.
I'm a proper daft lad me, a silly billy, always making people laugh, the life and soul of the party.
