I think he should be a genuine target - last year of his contract I believe?

More likely (and cheaper) than the likes of Gykores etc
 
Do we never learn...Brewster looked mega for Swansea, even Oli Mac looked better for them than he has been for us, (although I'm not an Oli Mac hater).....and we want to have a third go with Piroe....

For McBurnie keep brewster the lad was starting to look good before the latest injury, and yes I know ffs ,our sports tech should be working on his hamstring issues all summer
Still think him Jebbison and maybe piroe/gyokeres mixed and matched with Ndiaye and hopefully Pep will let mcatee have another year with us
Central midfield is our achilles ATM
Doyle on a permanent plus a CDM
 
I hadn't given up on Brewster before the latest injury but now I have. It's one too many, and indicates he's genuinely injury prone. It will take something special to surpass him as our worst ever signing

I'd be loaning him out before Osula or Jebbison. Would be tempted to keep both those 2. In fact if Pukki is our level of target then we should unquestionably be keeping them both here

agree 100% on brewster ive given up on him as well but yeah send him out to a championship club on a 6 month loan and see how things are after that big ask but go all out to get cameron archer on loan with a view to buy from villa

Joel Piroe (Swansea City)​


The 23-year-old forward is expected to leave Swansea City this summer. He will soon be entering the final year of his contract and the noise from Wales right now is that the club will look to cash in, rather than lose him for nothing.




His value is said to be around the £10m mark, with that price interesting Italian side Salernitana, according to the latest reports. The Dutchman, who joined Swansea from PSV in a £1m deal, found the net 20 times in all competitions last season.


He featured against United on both occasions last season and more than fits the bill. The majority of his goals came as a striker, but he can play in the number 10 role, as well as a right forward, giving Heckingbottom plenty of options.



Premier League clubs are also believed to be interested and he could be a good fit at Bramall Lane.
 
I think Pukki could well be the forward we sign and then pump the money we do have to spend into midfield and defence. Maybe if we get the injection of cash from a takeover or Ndiaye leaves then we'll look to sign a centre forward for a fee or on loan but obviously we don't want Ndiaye going full stop! I haven't seen that much of Piroe but he has done well for Swansea but I am not so sure we'd go after a bigger guy with Jebbo and McBurnie already here. I know Piroe is different to those two but I can just see us going after Archer from Villa if we do have some funds available.

For a team who'll have to have a forward who can play up on their own at times, Piroe jyst isn't the right sort of player. Even a diminished Pukki is a better bet
 
I'd be reasonably happy with this guy but if its £10m for him or get 2 younger midfielders bought and a striker on loan I'd rather go with the latter. We have a few strikers. We barely have any midfielders.
 
Like Akpom he plays 'in the hole' behind the main striker(s) picking up the knock downs and coming onto crosses.
We have N'Diaye and McBurnie (to a lesser extent) who did that quite a bit.
Can't see that he would fit in.
 
I honestly hand on heart would love to see Piroe replace Illy. I love Illy but to lose him at then end of the season for free is pure madness when we could get Piroe (with money left over) on a long term deal . Gerrim in.

Akpom can play CF a bit and as a physical specimen you wouldn't worry about his ability to look after himself at PL level.

Piroe wouldn't be for me.
 
Akpom would possibly be the best option to replace Ndiaye

If we fancy staying up we could just stretch the budget to 30m and sign him to play with Ndiaye.... 🤷‍♂️

Not impossible, but his quality is undoubted, and last season was emphatic, so it would be very strange

He also started scoring before Carrick came in, which indicates it wasn't all style of football/manager based

He didn’t pull up any trees in wilders system which is essentially what we are playing.

Not one I’d go for tbh certainly at the money asked
 
If you listened to the interview with Hecky I don’t even think top end Championship performers are on the agenda this summer. It will be frees, loans and non-elite European league unknowns who are good on Champ Manager for us.
 
Piroe will need a lot of the work doing for him if we have enough possession and create chances he can be very effective. But I feel we are going to need Centre forward who can be a real workhorse for the team and deal with the ball by himself at times. Still if we had more cash, 10 mill is a good price
 

signed him on CM01/02 - updated to April 23 transfers - had the Blades in the Prem nice free contract scored a few then went all daft bad attitude - disruptive influence sold him on slagged me off when he left Dem Blades went on to win the UEFA Cup AKA Europa League .... nice little two finger salute to Mr Piroe... its a no from me based on that ! UTB
