Watched Tangana in 2 games now and hes not the dominating CB we need. He'd be great as the second centre back but I think we need a Souttar play alike with more pace if we go up. If someone came in for Anel then Tangana would be a good replacement but if we go up we will need a big, strong, mobile CB.

I'm guessing we'd need a back 3 in the prem. A Tanganga - Souttar (or Souttar-type) - Anel combination would be solid.

I checked and until just over a year ago, he was a centre back, so whether that means we see him as a centre or right back is anybody's guess
If we renew our interest in Kenny, then presumably we see Dunne as a CB?

If he is, we could do with a few leaders/captains in the squad.

Better off signing him on a free now than spending £2-3m on him last January I suppose, especially as he might have played RB rather than CB, which meant we still would have played Robbo.

If that is a limited approach then yes, but Dunne has just won QPR Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year.

Choudhury is under contract till 2027 and on massive wages. I think he'd be a good replacement for Souza but I dint see us paying the fee City would want and the wages he's currently on

He’s had a good season for QPR but I’m not sure he’s anything more than a good championship player. In January to try and get us over the line fine this summer I think we should be finally looking at more creative targets than players who played well in the championship the year before.

If Dunne is a player signed alongside more creative targets then fine if he’s indicative of us sticking to what we’ve been doing previously then I don’t think that’s what the club should be doing.

I do see what you’re saying though I think each player has to be seen in his merits.

We didn’t go up. So there has to be a ceiling as to which players will come to us.

We’ve struggled to find a consistent right back all season. At least he would provide that, and scores goals and can cover centre half.

Let’s see. Silly season will start now the last ball has been kicked.

We’ll be linked with every man and his dog until July when we actually do start signing players.

Sensible signing and one i would be happy with. Think we may go 1 or 2 ways with this transfer should it happen. He comes in as a CB and we sign Kenny to compete with Seriki. Or we bring him in a
primarily as a RB and look to sign the likes of Scott Mckenna on a small fee (a very Wilder like signing imo) and perhaps revisit going in for Joe Worrall too if Burnley don't look to bring him to the prem from Forest, there we could have a tried and tested centre back partnership for the championship that could be brought in for relatively cheap, it would give us much needed height, aggressiveness across the back 4

I was told by a fairly drunk mate of Jimmy Dunnes a few weeks ago that he was gutted he didn’t join us in January, and there’d be an offer on the table for him this summer if we didn’t go up.

Things can change of course, but he’d be a very solid start I think this window.

Choudhury should be swerved due to the age profile. We need to find assets with resale value and the potential to develop. Ageing players on big wages should be limited. Even if the owners have a bottomless pit FFP is a huge concern. A right sided version of Burrows would be good.
