Taken from Jim's twitter page. Looks like he wants to know what we would like to pay in order to get us in the ground and get it full as opposed to staying at home and watching it on TV.

Anyone going to reply and make a suggestion? Could be a great opportunity for a family day and a cheap one for parents to take kids to.

I will be going regardless but would be nice to see a sensible approach to pricing seeing as though I still have to shell out for Colchester away not long as well as two more home games this month! three more including this!.

The thing is, if we do £10 adults and £5 for concessions then Fulham/Norwich will dispute it, and they have to agree on prices.

I think we'll see prices of £18Adults /£12Concessions

If it really doesn't matter and the gate money is covered by TV revenue, email or post out a "Pay What You Want" voucher to anyone who is on our databases. Maximum coverage in local and national media. Set minimum price at £1 per ticket (to cover admin costs) and when the voucher is redeemed either over phone or in person at T.O you are asked "And how much would you like to pay for your ticket?"

Most would say, "As it's the cup - sweet FA!"

;)

Nice idea mind

Isn't there a minimum price stipulated by the FA Cup rules???

Free for ST holders. And they get to bring a mate for most as well. £15 otherwise.

I'm one of that rare breed who doesn't have a Twitter account. But Jim's question seems to suggest that SUFC are willing to lower their prices in order to give the supporters a chance to see their team at affordable prices.
For what it's worth, anyone under 16 should be allowed in free. Adults should be allowed in for £12 regardless of where they sit. It's a one off, and something like this might be the moment a youngster becomes a Blade for life. Worth considering, and it would mean KM and the Prince would have to adopt long-term vision about the United they want to see in years to come. So Kevin, a little imagination might go a long way and prove that SUFC really are a family club.

the kick-off time is shite for a sunday - if we want to fill the ground at that time hows about £10 + free pie or a pint

Foxy touched on this in a conversation the other night.

The away team obviously get a cut of gate receipts therefore should in theory have some sort of say on what we want to charge to get in therefore does this mean we have to wait until after the Norwich / Fulham replay before the prices can even be decided upon?, It seems so.........

You would like to think to the revenue generated from the ticket sales in this one wouldn't be of "significant" interest to either of these clubs considering they are top flight and already take in mass amounts but this is modern day football where unfortunately money takes priority over fan satisfaction way too often.

Ticket for £10 (5 kids) if you purchase a ticket to our next home against Peterborough.

EDIT - Next home game after the cup game

I like this one Sheffielder a great suggestion if you ask me. Makes good sense to get fans into the ground for the midweek game which will be a toughy considering it's only a couple of days after a huge fixture.

I'm a season ticket holder and I will be there. I really hope the TV coverage doesn't put a few off from going in all honesty but if Villa was anything to go by along with the triple assault season when a few jumped onto the bandwaggon, hopefully this one will be a good crowd. Tell you what I am a firm believer in the whole 12th man thing at times. At Villa at the weekend you could tell the players were loving the support we were giving from the stands, it gee'd em on no end.

I'm sorry, but I'm not loaded with cash at the minute.

My priority has to be my three year old boy, and one year old little girl.

The ticket for an adult has to be no more than £10 for me, otherwise, unfortunately I will be one of those that watches the game at home. Everyone under 18 years old should be free.

I'm 44 years old by the way, not under 18 and after a freebie.

This is a massive opportunity for United to get people through the doors, that haven't been for a while, either through not being able to afford it, or else, that has fallen out of love with the game. A great opportunity to get folks re-connected with the Blades once again, and perhaps find some new, young, life-long supporters.

You don't need a twitter account to see Jim's tweets mate as his account is public and isn't protected, all you need to do is google search @JamesDPhipps and it will bring up his account on search results and you can read away.

Understand your stance 100% mate.

I guess that touches on another point, a good few won't see a pay cheque again until the very end of January and with this month already throwing in one extra fixture already and 2 more home games to come before the next pay day (now 3 with cup match), a good few won't me able to afford it.

All things have to considered here. You are right a great opportunity to promote the club and get fans back through the gates, also a great opportunity to create a good old fashioned family atmosphere at an affordable price. Not many parents can afford to take kids these days especially those with a couple or a few kids.

Good points.

Not sure about this, but haven't some pubs/ bars got contracts to show BT Sport games, just like they show Sky matches?

If they have, I can see pubs in Sheffield being rammed on that Sunday dinner.

I wouldn't be worried about TV coverage affecting the attendance. Hardly any fucker has got BT Sport to be able to watch it!

Don't tell the club that, they'll never bloody drop their ticket prices...

Anyway, Wiziwig is your friend. ;)

Right you two, so it's grand gesture by the club that's demanded by it's cash-strapped fans! £10 max for adults and free entry for anyone under 16. It's a one off, so they need to see the bigger picture and do right by their fans. Otherwise we might suspect they're only in this for the wonga! UTB!

Well I tried. My suggestion of £10 and a free flight from Vancouver got a 'Lol' response :)

Typical!

Harsh response that mate considering you are willing to put all the effort and jet lag into coming to watch it! :D

Go back and tell him that whenever they have decided what they are charging for tickets, to add an extra quid onto the price to fly you over :D

So, we can't agree on what the price should be and some people are more able to pay than others.

I'm glad we all agree the right answer is to let everyone choose their own entrance fee, so no-one who wants to come feels priced out.;)

There is a £10 minimum for non-concessions from what I've seen on twitter. I think we will see quite cheap tickets. From what I recall we haven't done a cut price home game in a while and what with this being something of a 'bonus' game and with the TV money, the club might be tempted just to get as many through the door as possible. Hopefully Norwich or Fulham wouldn't be against this.

Hi raul, don't think it's so much a case of not agreeing, as we all put our thoughts on a table so to speak, and then find a solution that suits everyone. One or two ST holders have asked what they should be expected to pay, so to take everyone into account I'd say an across the board £10 for adults, period. As I said earlier, apart from the one off occasion, those kids who'd attend for nothing might have the makings of future Blades. UTB

Those saying its a one off. It isn't really is it?

It's only the 4th Round of the FA Cup. We've been there many times.

It was meant in the context of a cup game compared to the usual league games, that's all. Let's hope it's part of a cup run and there's another cup game after this. Historically you're correct, but as for this season, well, work it out yourself.

In that context, surely the 4th Round of the FA Cup is a one off every single season? :p
