I gather Jim has been unwell, I'm sure we would all wish him a speedy recovery.

His social media interactions were, I believe, short sighted. It's fine when everything is going well, however when that's not the case it gives those disgruntled the opportunity to be key board warriors. They is no defence for the abuse, sometimes it was offensive and embarrassing and reflected badly on the club and the abuser.

The problem with Jim and his role as co chairmen really stems from bad decisions and management from the owners.

I wish him well, but do really think that he's made some serious errors in choosing to engage via social media with supporters.

I'm all for fusion food, but a GCB is sacrosanct and should only contain chips. Copious amounts of Salt & Vinegar are also advised.

Contacted Jim towards the back end of last week as I hoped to interview him for some Uni related work.

He emailed back on Tuesday saying he was glad to help me out, but I've not heard anything back since.

The vitriol he gets off sections of our fan-base makes me embarrassed to be a Blade - not like another one is needed at the minute.

Top man and hope he's okay health-wise.

Going back to this: Jim did get back to me and was fantastic, giving me a lot of content, a lot more than I'd hoped for.

Offered some interesting insight to his use of social media - which was the premise of the interview. He came across that he genuinely does care for the club and the fans and shares our disappointment with how this season has panned out.

The only hint he gave about anything on those lines was when I asked him if the keyboard warriors put him off use social media altogether. His response was:

"Yes, it is off-putting sometimes. No, I have not considered closing my account. I have slowed my engagement considerably over the last couple of months, for example. Not a permanent change, but a necessary one for my own health."

To me that suggests he has been ill, but is on the mend. Let's hope so, anyway.

He's clearly a top bloke. We all get frustrated with the Blades but aiming it at Jim Phipps is ridiculous. He's the mouth piece for the Prince. I've seen absolutely disgusting personal insults laid at him and I'm not surprised he's suffering. It must get him down.
