There was some talk on the twitter last night of Uncle Jim's employment as SUFC co-chairman being terminated. The tweeter was demonstrating a bit of ITK-bluster but I wondered if it was a rumour worth exploring. Anybody have anything to add?

Strappy on twitter is saying the same.

Wonder what his `source` says? ;)

Be sad to see Jim go, hope it`s nothing to do with his health.

Not wishing him ill health but I hope it is as apposed to the partnership starting to break up?

I'm ITK. But if I said owt, would I still be? I can't help feeling that my being ITK is, in part, a function of other people not being ITK.

No idea who his source was but "loose lips" was cited. I assume that refers to the Radio Sheff interview rather than the symptoms of some tropical disease.

If that is correct re Jimbob, then I also wonder if that means the departure of a certain HRH?

Would it really surprise anyone to see him chuck the towel in?

I think it might be down to his health.

A shame as he seems a nice enough guy.

Wonder if McCabe has made him stand down after letting slip it'll take 3 windows to sort the mess. McCabe was hoping to promise us it'll all be hunky dory by summer so we all renew.

Probably pissed of by all the twats that give him grief and abuse. Shame, he's a nice guy

No excuse for giving the bloke abuse on Twitter/Facebook, but anyone with half a brain knows that social media is full of idiots who love to send abuse. It never has and never will be a good idea for a football club chairman to interact with fans on social media.

That is unfortunately where Jim went massively wrong. In thinking he was doing right, he was actually doing the opposite. Given that he's studied for a degree in Law, it's a little surprising he didn't have the anticipation to know how it might not have been the best of ideas to interact with fans on social media.

Surprised Strappy has the time or inclination to tweet about this, bearing in mind he'll no doubt have been aboard his private jet en route to Miami, in conference discussion with his hedge fund managers, post-Cheltenham.

As you say regarding Jim, hope he's ok health-wise. Also, hope the rumours aren't true & that Jim'll be back soon.

Saying that hasn't damaged potential sales but the performance of the team over the course of the season will have done the real damage to sales anyway.

I hope Jim is ok healthwise.

However, apart from a few tweets last season and the season before, most of what he's done/ said has been, at best, fluffy words of comfort for our more sensitive and unloved fans.

From a football fans perspective, he's perhaps listened and taken a bit of action to get less/ more bubbles in the lager, warm pies on the South Stand and retweets of fans requests. From the outside we can't really see much more than that in terms of the business.

However, his footballing contributions where he's interracted with fans over social media have been nothing short of embarrassing. I'll give him credit for taking the time to put statements out over social media and replying to individual messages. However, the content of his replies often highlight his grasp of football, Sheffield United and its Fans.

Personally, I think the messages coming out of the club without his contributions have been much more enlightening.

I like Uncle Jim. The Ched affair was tough for all concerned, but I though he handled the press conference (where we announced we weren't singing him) very elequently and was able to put a voice to the feelings of many fans. He was a credit to the club that day. Anyway, he's still here until we hear otherwise. Hope all is well with him.

Who the fuck is Strappy?

Has a mate called Onny.

Regards Jim. Nice bloke did his best to win fans over but words need substance. His never really appeared to carry any clout. Out of his depth on the ched thing as well.

Do you really think he wasn't aware of the abuse he would get if things didn't go to plan(promotion) being a lawyer he would be aware of the abuse he would get, social media is a world wide institution and America has abusive characters as well.It will have been water off a ducks back to him,he,s a big boy and can take it.

You mean our game changing investment might be coming to an end?

Poster on BM saying JIM is seriously ill :(

Hope not hes a really nice guy that tried to engage with Blades through social media thinking it was a way forward only to be slagged off by the uneducated trolls (and there are many) in our fanbase met him a couple of times
Top Man

Contacted Jim towards the back end of last week as I hoped to interview him for some Uni related work.

He emailed back on Tuesday saying he was glad to help me out, but I've not heard anything back since.

The vitriol he gets off sections of our fan-base makes me embarrassed to be a Blade - not like another one is needed at the minute.

Top man and hope he's okay health-wise.
