We can debate about any bids, and the size if them, but we won't know. What we do know is that once again we have sold better quality than we have bought. It's too harsh to say the talk of investment was a lie, but not to suggest it's been a complete exaggeration.

If a debt free Sheffield United can't sign the players we have without investment, something's wrong.

Yeah I have got to agree for the most part of that.

Although I don't think we would have signed as many players as we already have with McCabe still just in charge. If McCabe was still the sole owner of the club still then I think we would have probably kept most of last years squad. He would have sold Maguire, Murphy and possibly Baxter. Also knowing McCabe any replacements would have been via the loan market.
