The massive riot that kicked off after their second goal, stared bang next to me, basically a person behind me started shouting stuff like "united are wank" so someone infront of me was like shut up and get behind ur team
so this guy gets up and shouts, hes a wednesday fan!!!
so everyone jumps on this man starts punching him, and im like  WTF
all of a sudden theres about 50 people having a riot right next to me
so then these people start pulling me in to it all im like "get bent"

there was one on SS with riot police to.

Saw a few scuffles then about 30 blades piled down from back of kop into a brawl.

And the piggies blame all the violence due to us not allocating them enough tickets? Am i mistaken or have they some divine right on how many tickets we choose to sell? nobs.

End of the day if you give as many tickets as you did to us tonight you are asking for trouble

Remind me again how many tickets we got for Hillsborough?

Thats exactly why it happened.

To be perfectly honest. Nobody deserves a beating like some have got over a football match...

But you have to be pretty bloody stupid to go in the home end and actually celebrate goals/spout off shit.

why is it asking for trouble giving you that many tickets?

Not sure of figures, but the full top and bottom tier

Around 5-6 thousand was it?

How many did we get?

couldnt agree more there foxy, and lets be honest youve got be absolutely insane or sererely mentally challanged to go into the home KOP

Yes. I heard that the bloke that took a kick in was in fact a blade- and that he had sheff united tattoos..
also these people that were running down were just stupid wannabe gangsters---- grow up

How many did we get?

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea :D

What I do know however, is you could have given us far more than you did due to all the empty seats/possible segregation.

Still.... Having few tickets isn't really an excuse to celebrate in the home end. The blades didn't force Wednesday fans to sit in there and make themselves known.

Whether or not it should result in violence... If you put yourself in the position of making yourself known at a time like that, you've got to expect it!

No idea on the kop... but there were other instances elsewhere in the stadium who were owls making themselves known for sure.

Don't get me wrong, i don't condone the violence and the sheer stupidity of the wednesday fans that sat in the home end and celebrated.

But, what i am saying is giving the opposition so little tickets in a Sheffield derby is asking for trouble, when your going to get the minority of idiots that will go in the home and celebrate. Especially when the home end isn't sold out.

Also, just wondering? How would it have been possible to give you more tickets. You got the entire top tier and the bottom tier?

so asking more wednesday fans to come means cutting down on violence.

Perhaps had you re-opened the "condemned/uncondemned" corner, or given us some of the plenty of empty seats around the stadium.

You could have quite easily segregated additional seating in both of the north/south stands.

Still, doesn't really matter anyway. Theres no set standards for the number of tickets either side should have been allocated.

Fair enough it would have been nice for more owls to enjoy a proper stadium... but at the end of the day, if we can sell most of the stadium... why shouldn't we fill it with blades?

Maybe we could have put a beamback on and charged you ridiculous rates? wheres that one been done before I wonder? :D

Would it honestly have stopped something like that? If someone is so intent to go cause that kind of disruption, would it have mattered that Wednesday were given 2000 or 5000 tickets.

Fairy enough, and if you can get more blades in there it's obviously going to go to your advantage, with us being by far the more vocal :D

But what im saying is, giving us such a low allocation is asking for trouble as clearly away fans will do all they can to get into the ground and watch the match.

With regards to the corner, i believe it's impossible for that to be opened atm due to safety reasons.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHHA :D

Yeah, it was last time around too, until you realised you could cash in on it :)

Honestly, how the ground passes a safety certificate I don't know, i'd be saying the same if it was the lane! You'd better hope any takeover bid has maintenance/development planned, because its needed!

I agree, and anyone who say's its the better stadium is not on this planet

The ground IS a shithole and is in desperate need of sorting out

However, if it's a choice between the shite on the pitch, or the shite ground, i would definatly go with sorting out the team

Without a doubt.

If you can get them playing in the style they did tonight however, you'll probably just scrape safety to give you the chance of sorting it.

At the end of the day I completely understand your point on the tickets.... but its not the root cause. The root cause, is idiocy from the people making themselves known.

Had you had 5000+ tickets, i'm sure there would have still been the odd Wednesday supporting nobhead making a tit of himself in the home areas.

Stewarding was crap though, all stood watching at the bottom of the kop whilst riot continued.

It was shocking at the top of Gangway E on the Kop. Had to go to the toilet after their 1st goal and the stewards were just stood watching the match and were blocking the gangway. It's not exactly the best idea to start annoying people who are already pissed off in a volatile situation.

What does it matter how many we give

You shouldnt sit in the home end if your the away team

did you hear of any united fans doing it at hillsborough? and if so did they make any noise, or was there any trouble?

In fairness, we had bugger all to make a noise about at their place this season.

I believe there are a few season ticket holders on the top tier (who would no doubt have had to have bought them before a certain Wigan match). Cup matches are different as a full stand or 20% of the ground has to be given up to the away fans. If we have sold season tickets, and set our away allocation as such at the start of the year, it ain't going to get changed again.

The simple fact is you had the same allocation as all bar Liverpool had last season in the league. In 1994 we had the Leppings Lane lower tier only; it's hardly the first time this has happened.

You've also given us an 'overspill' on the North Stand in derby matches before. Maybe that wasn't possible because of the 'unclean' corner. I doubt that Gangways G and H of the South Stand would have been good at the Lane, really.

Whichever way about, the pricks who caused hassle, and those who continued it, from whichever side, need weeding out and sorting.

After all that my friend, no doubt, see you next year.

Once again the pig fans let themselves down.............any pig fan in a home section of BDTBL should have been arrested by the police and charged with inciting a riot.

Shame on you pigs shame on you.

To be fair foxy, with the scenes that were ensuing, and given that the stewards barely make minimum wage, would YOU have gone into it to try and break it up?

SY Police should have been there long before they were instead of standing aimlessly in front of the away supporter.... i mean supporters :p

Without a doubt. No matter how much they get paid, they are employed to ensure that the ground regulations are upheld and that supporter safety ensues. I know exactly what you are getting at, and I do sympathise with them, but no way should they have stood around watching as I observed.

Got a Barnsley steward in the office and whilst its easy to say so when not involved, he'd have been acting upon the first sniff of it all kicking off, eh Duke? ;)

When I used to have a season ticket on the upper, whenever the upper was to be sold to away fans they put us elsewhere in the ground.

However in them days we needed all the money we could get and if some extra seats could be sold they would. Whereas we could sell the ground out this time.
