Agree.....he's too inconsistent to be a starter at Palace.....they would (at best) just use him as impact sub for the last 10 to 15 minutes
and I've now doubt that he's talented enough to have the odd impressive cameo performance even at PL level but he's too hit and miss.

You can see how he's slowly and gradually improving though out the season but he's a bit like James McAtee and still a bit of a luxury player.
He toughened up his game but needs to be in a side having plenty of possession playing attacking football.
Playing for Sheff Utd at the top of the division gives him freedom and a chance to build up some confidence.

He's clearly making progress here but going into the PL this season would bring that progress to a halt.
I'm pretty confident that Palace will listen to feedback from JRS and if he's happy here....I'm sure he'll be here for the full season.

It would be kind of embarrassing if a club like Palace recall JRS because they are pinning their hopes to avoid relegation on an untested novice Academy player. Think the only possible way he could return is if they have an injury crisis and have no other options in that position
or for some reason JRS is really missing South London and is desperate to return to be near his family.
Sure Port Vale fans were thinking this a year ago about Arblaster😉

As mentioned earlier, he's confident he will stay, but there's no clause that says he is staying, or absence of a recall clause

Wilder doesn't half chat some waffle he said he was here for the season 100% last week as if there was no recall clause

If, and it’s a big IF, we get promoted and Palace are relegated, I wonder if Chris would be tempted to meet their asking price for him? He’s not ready for the Prem yet, but he certainly would be in a very short space of time.

I think if Palace go down, JRS starts every game for them next season to get them back up

He said '100% confident', he didn't mention or hint at anything to do with the contract. If you're tempted to argue against that, go back and listen/watch

The contracts allow Palace to recall Rak Sakyi but it can only be done during the 1st week in Jan25.
It also allows Chelsea to recall Gilchrist but again the window for a return is during the 1st week in Jan25.

I suppose Wilder is just using common sense., he'll know what the players want and probably spoke to the cubs about their intentions.
Both Rak Sakyi and Gilchrist are enjoying playing here and making progress in their development.
Why would either Palace or Gilchrist be recalled when they'll hardly in the Premier league this season, so their development comes to a stop.

We're safe regards Souttar, the clause only allowed Leicester to recall him if he was hardly playing (less than 50% of matches).
So as he's been a regular....then there's no recall allowed on Souttar...he's here for the full season.

Agree it's always possible.

I suppose the difference was Arblaster was ripping it up in league 1, improved so quickly that he outgrew the team and the league.

Where as Rak Sakyi isn't ripping it up in the Championship, he's got plenty of quality but still inconsistent drifting in and out of games.
We can put up with his bad spells but in the Primer league he'd be a passenger and out of his depth in some matches.

Playing him in the Premier league too early could destroy his confidence, so logic suggests he'll remain in the Championship until the end of the season.

JRS probably needs this season and next at this level. He's still filling out and learning, something that only games will give you. It doesn't mean they won't recall him though. I understand that if they do we get half the loan fee back which would go some way towards a replacement.

At the end of the day. If they get an injury between now and the 8th of January. Then he's going back 😭

You've skipped what he said before/after. Why would you try to mislead people unless you're a pig? I shall not be getting sucked into your nonsense. Muted
For those that ever doubt that this muppet is a troll with a fake agenda against Wilder to get a reaction so he can wank into his weetabix and gobble it up whilst crying

He has clearly gone back to listen to the press conference, and quoted only a bit that suits his agenda. The actual quote is:

Interviewer: "There's been a bit of talk this week at the Palace end about Jesurun possibly being recalled in January, is there any concern on your part that he's not here for the season?"
CW: "No, he's here for the season"
Interviewer: "You're confident of that"
CW: "Yeah 100%"

So he never mentioned a contract, all he did was offer his opinion and cleverly answer the question to give confidence to the viewer. There was no follow up to ask if there was a clause. There is a recall clause. Wilder is just confident it won't be triggered

I hope this reply makes your weetabix particularly soggy

I really do not want to him to go back and I have zero intel re a release clause. But if I was third from bottom of the Prem and I had the chance to bring someone like JRS into the squad for a few cameos and injury cover, I would do it.

Not saying they definitely will, but I hope we have a couple of other plans in the pipeline just in case.

Last month Jimmy Ramble gave out of the release clause details of all our 3 loanees.

Regards JRS it's the standard 1 year loan....with Palace being able to recall him back for any reason in January.
However their decision can only be enforced during the 1st week in January 2025.

Gilchrist has a similar clause put in by Chelsea, if they want him back, they can only do it during the 1st week of January 2025.

Leicester obviously can't have much interest in having Souttar back because their clause was they can only recall him if he's played less than 50% of the matches, he's already surpassed 50% of the games, so their recall clause can no longer be enforced. We've got Souttar for the season.

Chelsea have a million players so I don’t think Gilchrist will be needed, thankfully he can stay here, JRS could do a job at Palace because they’re struggling a bit, I hope we can keep hold of him because he’s a game changer and match winner at this level most weeks. Souttar will obviously still be here as has been said in previous posts so nothing to worry about in that respect, let’s just hope he doesn’t need to go to Australia anytime soon.

, JRS could do a job at Palace because they’re struggling a bit,

Theyve got the same points in the last four matches than both Mancehster City and Aston Villa combined (and much better goal difference). Just saying like.

At least we would have the time and money to get in a replacement.
Fingers crossed we keep him though

Makes sense.....at present JRS reminds me of James McAtee in the early/ mid part of his loan spell at Sheff Utd.
You can see JRS has loads of talent (definitely has ability to reach PL level) but he drifts in and out of games, has longish spells where he goes missing.

Like McAtee he can be great on the ball but without the ball....JRS is quite poor and still learning. He's also inconsistent, like most youngsters.

We're one of the best teams in the league so we can afford to play a "luxury player" who has off days
where as Palace are fighting a relegation battle, he'd never be risked as a starter and might even struggle with the pressure.
Palace would just use him as a last throw of the dice, bringing him on as sub for the last 10 minutes of games....that's hardly going to develop him.

He's making good progress here (mainly his out of possession game) but isn't yet Premier league standard
......unless Palace pick up loads of injuries and become desperate then think he'll stay here for the season.

I'm glad it's not just me that sees the flaws.

He has some excellent attributes but last night he was hopeless when we were out of possession.

I was getting quite agitated watching him wandering round the midfield looking like a little lost boy with a very languid jogging style.

Because I was getting agitated, which is unusual for me, I found myself watching him quite closely and all he did was jog about. I never saw him get tight to an opposition player to close him down, never broke in to a proper run, and most of the time he was just watching them play all around him.

He has a lot to learn, possibly about attitude and application, if he wants to have a successful career as a professional footballer.

It's great that he has good ball skills and can score nice goals but he needs to realise that it's a team game that requires everyone to contribute 100% effort 100% of the time, even when called upon to do the things he doesn't like.

Is this stuff published or do you have secret sources ? Just curious 🧐

My understanding is that they do have a recall clause, but have to pay us money to recall him.

Yes, it sounds mental, the figure is even more mental, so I'd be confident he is here for the season.
