Full back at Shrewsbury who can also play centre half. Was one of the best full backs in league one the season before last but then got a bad injury and is now fully recovered. Very powerful and quick with good feet for a defender, would give us an attacking threat from full back if he could get back to the level he was at before his injury.

Perhaps we could turn him into a 30 goal season striker instead of buying a striker that way we don't break our policy of not signing a goal scorer ...a proper win win situation;)

HIGDON is a goalscoring striker does he not count then?

Could be worth seeing how he gets on against us on Tuesday.

Seems strong, quick and he can play in more than one position in defence.

Heard from a friend that works at the lane this morning that we are in talks with Jermaine Grandison formally of Shrewsbury. Big powerful athletic centre half and at 25 has his best years ahead of him. Probably a good addition for not too much money. Been told we are in "advanced talks" though what this actually means i do not know?

Interesting, he's a right back as well. Good athlete and still fairly young. Would be an ideal squad player, probably preferable to James Wilson.

Been suggested before many times on this forum. He would be a very decent signing for us.

Im assuming he's been offered a contract at Shrewsbury but he knows he can better it elsewhere? As their fans seem to really rate him

Didn't play much last season, 19 league games, troublesome hips apparently.

So this player been at lane this morning?

Still might be worth the gamble though if he is available for free. We just have to remember not give this one a daft 3 or 4 year contract is all. :)

My mate works at lane( not in any hugely important capacity) but the rumours which go round the office there tend to have a bit more substance than anything on twitter. He just said we are in advanced talks with his agent about a proposed deal. I would assume if thats sorted then we would go for a medical and be seen at the lane.

Ok pal hope so, is he still at Shrewsbury?

Given our apparent desire to offload Freeman, a Bromby type covering RB/CB would seem ideal.

I got as far as seeing he's 6'4" and thought he'll do!

Interesting quote from Graham Turner, his precious manager:

"He has got size, power and pace, as well as the ability on the ball. He had a good season at full back last season and we shouldn't dismiss his ability to get forward and provide us with chances... Ultimately, he will be a central defender and an outstanding one at that".

I wonder if he speaks French? Ricky?

"....I wonder if he speaks French?...."

Possibly, but with a Birmingham accent? ;)

I don't think he's fulfilled that potential.

From what I've seen he's obviously big, strong and fairly quick, but he's one of those who'll look really good on the ball one minute and drop a clanger the next. Typically League One. Their fans don't seem to rate him too highly and he didn't play much last season.

He's the sort who could easily end up in League Two so I hope we've done our homework if we are signing him. I'd like to think Knill will know plenty about him.

He's ready...

I think he's fucked pal, hip injuries, with the last recurrence in April 2016 when someone posted this:

'I sincerely hope that Grandison does not recover too quickly, he is just an awful footballer being overpaid by Shrewsbury Town, his defensive play is appalling, and is considered a liability, probably one of the worst defenders to pull on a town shirt.'

..that'll be why he finds himself training on his own without a club this week...

He had a really good game against
us when we lost 4-2 played right back 6ft 4 and can use the ball he would be a great signing

He'd be nothing like a great signing, there's no basis to confidently say that.

He could be decent back up.

Just another player who got the BDTBL syndrome , were they raise there game and look world beaters . For the other 45 games the are below average shite.

From what I’ve seen of Grandison he’s an impressive athlete but a little awkward on the ball. A bit of a Nosworthy type (I know that automatically puts some off but I said the same about Baptiste- not necessary equal to Nosworthy, just has similar strengths and weaknesses).

If his fitness is OK, he would be a decent value for money signing in my opinion. Not the statement of intent some would like but a “could do a job” type of player. One I actually suggested a few months back to play on the right of Adkins’ 352.
