Sheffield United are set to sign Cameroon right-back Jean-Joel Perrier after he was snubbed by Celtic, where he had a spell on loan from Rennes.

Oh no!

He couldn't pass water!

BOOM BOOM! :D

heres some info

Perrier-Doumbé started his career at AJ Auxerre, making over 50 first-team appearances before moving to Rennes in 2004. He quickly became a first-team regular at the Stade de la Route de Lorient, making 27 Ligue 1 appearances matches in the 2005-06 season.

However, the Cameroon international found first team opportunities limited during the first half of the 2006-07 campaign, after missing the opening stages of the season due to an arm injury sustained in a preseason friendly. The arrival of former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot provided strong competition for the right-back berth and Perrier-Doumbé was strongly linked with Middlesbrough.

On 12 January 2007, it was reported that Perrier-Doumbé had been on trial with Celtic since 10 January, while Premiership side Bolton Wanderers FC were also credited with an interest.[2] On 25 January 2007 it was confirmed that Perrier-Doumbé would join Celtic, initially on loan until the end of the season, with an option for Celtic to sign him for an additional two years after the completion of the loan.[1]

On arrival at Celtic, Perrier Doumbé found first team opportunities limited and began as a reserve team player. However, injuries to Mark Wilson and Gary Caldwell gave the Cameroonian a chance and he made his way into the first team, although not until after Celtic had already won the league. He scored the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic on the 26th of May 2007 . It was his first ever senior goal.

oh dear i smell another mamadou seck :( :( :(

He's hardly as unknown and its reported by some that Strachan wants to keep him, but the terms of the loan deal mean he'd have to pay.

sounds like a good player if you ask me, celtic regular

Sounds like he is worth atleast a trial.

Lets hope he can impress.

Robson impressed so far..........

Robson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I have been impressed with him and he comes with really good references from people I know within the game.

"I'll continue to have a look at him and then make a decision on Saturday."
