There will be. He will to all and intents and purposes still be controlled by SUFC in all but name with the terms of the transfer. I suspect we still have high hopes for him but are using Dunfermline purely for logistical reasons to get around red tape. Clearly we forget about maximum slots available when we were filling out boots with AI targets, the daft sods. Another learning curve for those at the club.

The dubious thing here is that we were supposed to have paid a million for him.

I’d envisage Dunfermline have never paid a million for anyone. Yet here they are, the team that Bord invests in benefitting from a million pound signing for a fraction of that.

I'd have thought a couple of hundred thousand dollars there's no way we paid a million in a thousand years

I actually think the move will do him the world of good. Chance for him to get first team football and develop at a good club and competitive league. Hes does really well and develops nicely, I would see a but back from United for an 'undisclosed' fee. Everyone's a winner. Up to the lad now to try and show what hes about.
 
Not happy. We bring him over from Peru, then sell him to outer Mongolia (Dunfermline) because we need his place for a swede.

Why would this make you not happy? Unless hes your son, in which case, unlucky.
 

It’s not a very honourable way to treat a young man trying to make his way in the game. He probably thought it was the opportunity of a lifetime and we’ve fucked him off without giving him a chance.

I don’t mind the idea of looking in untapped markets to find hidden gems but they’re not poker chips, they’re people.

I agree. He hasn't even been with the club for a full year. Never even got the opportunity to show what he can do in a competitive match. Maybe he really wasn't good enough, but the guy came over from the other side of the world. He deserved at least a chance.
 
As Thor once said (in some advert) no success without integrity.
 
I thought at 22 it was odd to expect a guy from Peru to ever be good enough for the Championship given that he'd never played for Peru apart from one under 23 cap I think it was. Strange signing.

All the best to him mind. He may do v well in Scotland.
