We need a faster, bigger, trickier version of Billy, otherwise just play Billy because can't see us scoring enough goals otherwise
How did they make Captain America better? it's that sort of transformation you've just described

If Lunny's going to fuck off then Hendrick could be an easy, convenient replacement on a free.

Can't see anyone like Milan signing him really.

Last game they played think Denmark or Swiss he just kept hoofing it out of play or giving it away. No real quality on the ball.

No decent footballer should be judged on performances for Ireland - they play a different sport.

Sounds a decent signing I thought, lad wants to earn more money but we can compete with Burnley, I thought.
Let's have a quick look at their accounts... wages went up to 87m for the year 18/19.
£87 million? Sounds a lot, quick calculation, let's say 85% on player wages /25 (players) /52 (weeks).
57k week? Fucking Burnley, wait wait wait let's do the numbers again...I know this isn't precise but come on...

So out of curiosity for the same period: Man Utd wages £293 m.
Fuck me this is a big pool we're swimming in.

I know it was a quick calculation to land on a rough average salary but it is oversimplistic to the point that it's misleading. The overall salary figure covers all employees of the club (by way of example, Utd employ 700 people) and Burnley have a lot more than 25 players on their books.

I'm a little out of the loop these days but I do know that up until the end of last season their highest paid players were Wood and Mee on £50k/week. I would imagine that Rodriguez would be close to that figure and don't forget they're paying clowns like Joe Hart >£40k/week.

Yes, of course there are a number of clubs that could blow Utd out of the water when it comes to players' salaries and CW will have to be cute to land targets e.g. as he was to sign Berge, but the significant overall uptick since promotion last season, the ongoing increases to certain players and the assurance the club will receive at least a second year of Prem money means it will be at least be able to compete with other Prem clubs as well as with all bar the top clubs in the other strong European leagues.

I'm a bit more sober now! But the figures are still eye opening:
78m directly on wages (the rest was Social Security and pensions)
160 employees supporting the football side.
69 support staff, 26 part time support staff.
325 match day staff.
Even if you are generous with the other wages there is a lot of money left for the playing staff.

Yep it certainly is and I think we'll just have to get used to paying higher and higher wages if we want to stay towards the top end of it as we can't afford to stagnate.

Also the longer we remain in The Prem the more our top players, or more specifically their agents, will look at the salaries available elsewhere when it comes to renegotiating time.

I think we got a pretty free pass this year as we weren't expected to do much (us fans thought we would) so salary expectations will have been tailored accordingly. This won't go forever.

We play a very unique system. I for one wouldn't want to lose one of our key players that thrive in the system due to wanting to stick rigidly to a bottom end wage structure with no guarantee whoever we bring in instead on the wages we are prepared to pay being as effective in our system.

I don't agree with the amount of money sploshing around at the top table but we have to face the fact this will be the way it is from now on unless we want to go back down at some point.

Even Bournemouth's wage bill was £102m last year on crowds of 12k.

'Luckily' (i'm twitching at using that word) C19 is going to give everybody a reality check so we may be able to hold onto the current system for a couple of years yet.

Irish.

So instantly stands a better chance than foreigners like Berge and Ricky Holmes.

Free transfer, low risk.

High probability he'd be a signing that works out.

If on a free i'd take a punt if budget has been cut also could try for Niasse

It feels like he's been garbage for about 18 months now but nobody has noticed because he's so low key to start with

AC Milan are desperately wracking their brains as we speak trying to decide between Hendrick or Dominik Szoboszlai.....

We can compete because he is on a free But we must have a wage structure and would he fit into that
