Jebbo

Very sad if true but maybe he needs a change of scenery and fresh challenge. He's still young so let's not abuse him and wish him the best for his (potentially short) footballing career.
Anybody abusing him should wash there mouth out,! very unfortunate for him and the club who seem to have done all they can with something like this.
We've seen players before young players run contracts down or move to richer pastures! Only Calvert Lewin from my recollection has gone in to be a success! Jebbo is a long way short of the quality required at premiership level and lots to learn technic wise.
Calvert Lewin in comparison had the technic required just needed time to grow into his body.
If goes best of luck to him it will be a tough gig...

Cant really blame him for wanting to go with our staff . Saying that though can’t say we will miss him really as he hasn’t progressed into a player for us

I can't help but feel like, this latest setback aside, his progress has really stalled. There appears to be all the raw attributes there to make a decent player and athlete but it just hasn't clicked yet. I also have an underlying feeling that we could've done more to bring his development on, but I'm not sure what I'm basing that on.

Lad has played 886 minutes in the 1st team since he was dragged back from Burton (he was a very good L1 forward at 18, that's very, very rare) because the owner wouldn't pay to loaning a senior forward
At the same age as he is now, Archer was scoring 4 in 26 for Solihull Moors
Scores well over a goal a game at his age group. Great physical attributes

But yeah, get rid Because he's not smiley enough

Same dickheads on this thread calling him will be crying when Arblaster isn't Gerrard from minute 1 next season. Get a grip ffs

I get the feeling that actually its he is frustrated with the situation as a whole and probably annoyed that he has had a blood clot as potentially was hoping for a january transfer to a bigger club (not in my eyes, but probably in his).

Love how people seem to forget how they behaved when they were 20 odd. Just because he is a professional footballer doesn't mean all the feelings and behaviours don't still exist. Probably worse as he, unlike most of us, can't do all the stupid stuff we do when we are that age.

Blood clots happen for all sorts of reasons so considering how the piece is written and where it is, the legal action will be a load of rubbish, but that doesn't mean he isn't frustrated with the situation. Wife is a nurse and takes loads of blood, some people are easier than others to get blood out of, loads of people bruise not heard her talk about blood clots from it though.

I wish him the best, Would be great to see him light up the Prem for us but not sure this season he would be adding much as it stands.

If it is about Jebbo you could also argue that the injury that ruled him out for 2 months last year "hindered his progress" or the recall from the loan did too. It is too difficult to prove a players trajectory.

Nothing like a Newspaper rumour regarding an unnamed player to get people jumping to conclusions. I wonder if other clubs fans are making these sorts of conclusions over injured young players in their squad?

It could well turn out to be Jebbo, but until it's confirmed it's hard to know.

We've only seen glimpses of him, in all the appearances he's made, he's burst in, had a couple of decent games amongst some crap ones and then disappears off the scene for a while.

He'd have been better off staying out on loan, making more of a name for himself as a league one striker, getting some loan time in the championship and then assess him again.

He's a hard one to judge as i don't think he reads the game well enough (yet?) so needs games somewhere to show what he's about.

The combo of United and injuries has robbed him of much needed game time. He's played 886 minutes of the last 9000 (ish) available since he came back from Burton

I'd have expected him to have played more to be fair, not followed his injuries that much so don't know how much actual time he's been available, so it's a hard one to judge.

Definitely hard to tell. But denying him U23/U21 games when he has been fit but sitting on the bench or just getting on for a short cameo has been an odd decision in previous seasons.

He may end up not making it, many don't. But it'll be a shame to lose someone obviously talented for nothing

Yeah, better to get him out on loan though instead

I think this might be the bit that we aren't very good at as really we should have cashed in on him when someone was interested. We either need to commit to bringing through a player because they are good enough, loan or sell. We seem to get caught in the middle ground meaning we don't benefit in any way.

I say this a lot but the lack of someone with a modicum of experience being in charge of football operations is a massive oversight. Uniited World know as much about how to run the football side of an English club as Bettis does

ah didn't realise that, not a great loss then from the evidence so far
Throwing away an awful lot of potential but based on him (if it's true) blaming United for both mis-handling his development and causing his health issues it's out of the clubs hands now.

Seems weird to have a doctor administer the taking of the sample though. I’ve never had a doctor do it and I’ve had thousands of tests. It’s always been either a trained nurse or a specialist phlebotomist.
Agreed! A doctor is the last person you want taking blood! (Speaking from experience!)

The key is potential. He's certaibnly sat on the bench for a number of games when he's been fit and for whatever reason, he's not pushed on, yet. If he's not going to sign a new contract and he's going to walk away, there is clearly a lower value that the club put on him than he wants for himself. Fair enough, he may well get it elsewhere.

It seemed pretty innocuous but it was still a bit of inexperience and it gave the ref opportunity to send him off. I can’t remember if the club appealed it or not at the time.

They were thinking about appealing but from memory didn't. You are right though if he doesn't get tangled up in it, he doesn't give the referee the opportunity. But it wasn't even the referee it was the 4th official on that one and for me it was never even a consideration of a red card, if anything Jebbo looks at him to avoid contact.

It was a ridiculous decision!
