Not a single one of them has made the 1st 11 stronger and must have cost a fortune in fees and/or wages.

BBD - came in unfit and looks completely disinterested. Looks like he’s fallen out of love with football. Can’t control or pass a ball. Doesn’t even make the decent runs in behind that he did last season. Absolutely cannot sign him permanently in the summer.

Cannon - Not had the best service but doesn’t do anything to help himself. Isn’t strong or quick and hasn’t created a chance for himself yet. Looks very similar to how Benie Traore was for us last season, a boy in a man’s game. £10m is baffling.

Clarke - not an upgrade on Seriki or Gilchrist. Defensive positioning all over the place and not doing enough attacking wise to warrant a place in the team. How Gilchrist can’t get a start in front of him I’ve no idea.

Choudhary - done ok in spells but he drops way too deep almost playing as another centre half at times and is just way too slow with his build up play. Another one I wouldn’t be looking to sign permanently.

Holding - must wonder what he has to do to get a game. Been crying out for another centre half since Souttar got injured we sign one yet Wilder continues to play the 2 clowns together every week. At least one of them makes a mistake every other game. Simply has to come into the team now.

The other 2 lads who’s names I can’t remember - another waste of £2m as they look nowhere near the first team.

May have made the bench stronger but the money could’ve and should’ve been spent on 2/3 top quality players who were going to improve the 1st team. And the 6th loan signing was just plain stupid.

100% this.

On paper look 5 quality signings but for what they'll cost us it was a poor window and we didn't sort out the problems.

I didn’t want Diaz Cannon or Choudray
and was completely underwhelmed in our (what appears to be) lack of making a CH number 1 priority from 26 Dec on

Choudhury's been a really necessary signing to be fair. With Souza injured our midfield was nonexistent, he hasn't been amazing, but has put in a few big performances and generally been solid
True, but there was better options. Matt Grimes for one

Apart from Holding, the other signings were reserves from the bottom 3 clubs in the Premiership. Why go fishing in that pool ? You’re never going to find quality there.
Wilders recruiting is a disaster.

Choudhury has done okay & was definitely needed with Souza & Davies injury problems.

BBD I’d like to have seen down the middle & not out wide where his pace is more effective

Holding ..this is the infuriating one ..why bring him here to get splinters in his arse when we lost our main defensive lynch pin in Souttar . I posted the clean sheet stat on another thread of before and after Souttars injury ..Wilder has been to loyal to Robinson

Cannon ..we didn’t need another forward player ..that money should have been spent on Dunne or Tanganga as a long term CB signing ..just not cut out for the current lone striker formation..looks a complete square peg in a round hole

Clarke ..been disappointing..decent going forward , defensively all over no real upgrade on Seriki ..would have probably been a good fit in our old 352 with cover behind him

Well that's done my head in!
I write Wilders tactical plan up for the players pre-match. It’s WilderWang tactics. I meant……

…I’d defend BBD in that he’s a left sided player being played by Wilder on the right. Move him to the left gives us a better option and Hamer into a more central role to improve a poor MF

Matt Grimes cost Coventey £4m, what's he done since signing for them?
£4m for a 29 year old approaching the end of his contract (wasn't it June 25?) is steep, especially as there is no resale value in him.

For a bit of context, Jimmy Dunne is out of contact this summer, and one of the rumours going around in January was that we agreed to pay £2m for him, only for QPR (who apparently had told us they wanted £2m) to increase the price to £3m.

Jimmy Dunne could have done a job for us at both RB and CB, but would you have really paid £3m for someone who is out of contract this summer and doesn't look likely to sign a new deal at all.

Cooper and Burrows combined cost us £4.5/5m, Moore (2 years older from an EPL Clubs) cost us £1.5m.

We sold Bogle (with 1 year left) for about £5m but he's 6 years younger than Grimes and has some resale value.

Pretty dumb way of looking at it.

Add up the minutes that each of the January signings has played.
Now think about who would have played those minutes had they not signed.

You can make a case that you expected more from them on a case by case basis, but if you don't think the January signings have contributed to us getting this points haul then I can't help you.

I know what you mean about right and left but I'd have re read this post before submitting it 😊

You put your left arm in - your left arm out - In out ,in out , you shake it all about

To be fair, making the bench (squad) stronger was probably the main aim in that transfer window. It was laughable before.

For what it's worth, I believe BBD would make the 11 stronger if he played on the left, and Holding if he played at all.

Cannon literally could not have been more of a disaster unless one of his very few touches had been an own goal.

The problem is that primarily he has been played as an auxiliary centre half
