It can still go both ways. I've not given up on promotion, but I am also aware that if we suffer a few injuries/suspensions to key players (Cooper, Tanganga, Bamford, Peck, Seriki and Brooks) we could be in for a serious relegation battle.looks very much to me like weve accepted our lot for january we wont go down and we wont go up so saving any new signings for this summer
That's to come after the window for sureThey would spin it that we made 3 key signings and offloaded a few so it was a good window.
Maybe I’m the only one, but does anyone else not mind if we try but fail to add?
I mean, we’re not in for a Bamford back up for tomorrow anyway.
We played very well in the last game.
We may have some midfielders who are at different stages of fitness but have at least 5 who should be available for the following week. Matos hasn’t even gone yet. We can always keep him as insurance if we really want.
Tanganga is going to be back for Oxford and he’s been quite fit. McCallum can always be a 5th choice centre back if needed. Bindon wasn’t really an injury per se. Mee is over the hand issue which was keeping him out.
I actually think we’d be ok. Not totally against one more but it isn’t the end of the world. We’re very decent even when a couple are out.
And even beyond…I think we need to get Matos out before it's worthwhile bringing someone else in. Wilder said the squad was too big and we have sent some loan players back and Nils and Ryan have gone out on loan.
I think the owners also want to avoid the mistake of the last 2 windows and just signing anyone last minute for a fee.
At the presser today , thought CW looked a bit down and frustrated. When he suggested Jairo and Pat were window signings, that said it all for me.
To be fair if you wind back to December and said we’d sign Jairo, Bamford and a competent right back to cover for Femi without losing any major players we’d have took that, and I still would.
It’s the losing players but I’m worried about, not the ‘not adding’ bit.
it could do but i doubt it weve enough to keep us in this league imo but not quite enough for top 6 so finish halfway this season and go for it this summerIt can still go both ways. Ah, the old classic. At the presser today , thought CW looked a bit down and frustrated. When he suggested Jairo and Pat were window signings, that said it all for me.
Agree that we have a proper go next season, but I think we may lose some talent when the failure payments stop. It's going to be very difficult. This season is/was the opportunity to go up.it could do but i doubt it weve enough to keep us in this league imo but not quite enough for top 6 so finish halfway this season and go for it this summer
yes were going to have to cut our cloth next season but for me these are the circumstances where wilder is at his best give him an open cheque book and its a disasterAgree that we have a proper go next season, but I think we may lose some talent when the failure payments stop. Or even suspensions for a fewIt can still go both ways. I've not given up on promotion, but I am also aware that if we suffer a few injuries/suspensions to key players (Cooper, Tanganga, Bamford, Peck, Seriki and Brooks) we could be in for a serious relegation battle.
I’m not that arsed. If we don’t win tomorrow we’re basically playing to see if we can finish above or below Preston in mid-table come the end of the season.Maybe I’m the only one, but does anyone else not mind if we try but fail to add?
