Surely the coaching staff must be having a word with him by now about one on ones with the keeper and getting him to practise them in training. Thats three I remember having where he has tried to take it round the keeper and failed. He just needs to work an angle and put it in the corner. Hes young enough and technically good enough to learn. If he can sort his one on one finishing out he could easy be looking at 15+ this season.

Yeah he has been through on goal a number of times now and fluffed his chance.

He is great at doing everything else but we just got rid of Webber who was good a fluffing his fair share.

Hopefully it gets sorted in training.

webber put in a sickeningly unselfish cross for portsmouth on match of the day saturday, i nearly choked on my ovaltine when i saw it!

i know we're all know-nowts and the coaches and manager are pros but i cant agree less with the original post - i said this while i was listening to the match on saturday.... i just hope they get supportively tougher on him. i dont know if its his height but i can somehow picture them treating him like the best kid by miles in the junior sunday team and not actually addressing the issue and coaching him into a more ruthless, disciplined finishing style.

ryan giggs' free-kick on saturday... when he strolled up to take it, i didnt expect him to stick it away ronaldo style... but as he said afterwards, they stay behind and practice and practice. i'd have jamie ward - with the otherwise thumb-twiddling paddy up at shirecliffe until sunset if i were blackie

UTB!

I agree.
Except Paddy wouldn't be able to as he can't train at all with United :(

Keith Edwards was the best ever at one-on-ones with the keeper...praps he could help.

Exactly which part of my post do you disagree with?

What about in Endcliffe park?

Playing football in Enks used to really help with your tricky dribbling and body-swerves, from dodging all the many piles of dog shit. Nowadays the park is much cleaner, and footballers in Sheffield are of a lower standard as a result.

Shit - that must be why neither of the sides can get back to the Prem :)

Blooming eck, if he is gauranteed to stick away 15+ a season then i'll go up to Shirecliffe after work and get mi sen in net for an hour or 2!?

With Evans 20 a season, Henderson 15 and Ward 15 (ahem) we'll be fired straight back into the promise land!!?? :p

I was saying it all summer, it's why I said he won't get 20 goals this season.

If he could bury these one on ones, he'd be absolutely lethal.

i just think he is saving them all for friday its a trick to let wendy think he can't finish. So they don't worry about him going through on goal

Is that this season or in his career?
