Plymouth Argyle striker Jamie Mackie has been linked with a move to Sheffield United.
A national newspaper has reported that Blades boss Kevin Blackwell is ready to bid £700,000 for the Pilgrims' forward.
Mackie, who missed yesterday's game against Nottingham Forest because of a calf injury, has also been linked with moves to Derby County and Middlesbrough.
Rams manager Nigel Clough admitted in January that Mackie was one of his transfer targets but the proposed move failed to materialise.
The 24-year old striker was snapped up from Exeter City for £145,000 in January 2008 and has scored 16 goals from 102 appearances for Argyle with eight goals coming this term.
It seems very doubtful that Mackie will start next season in League One playing for Argyle.
