He was Tranmere's captain at 20, when they were top of the league for that period. Then he got the first bad injury, and they plummeted.

He was well on his way to the PL.

We didn't have a huge sample size of appearances from him but it was enough to see that he was strong, committed, could tackle, get about the pitch, control and pass the ball and avoid being tackled.

He was still young and had a lot of development left in him.

It's a real shame but fair play to him for coming back time and time again and making a go of it.

He’s another one of the potential worldbeaters after he left that I failed to see when he was here, I’d never make a scout.

Just out of interest how many former Tranmere captains have gone onto the world stage and become ‘complete midfielders’?

Shit response. When has anyone suggested 'world beater'? I've said nothing more than 'PL player'.

Being a 20 year old captain of a table topping L1 team is a strong position from which to go on and have a very good career.
