He's been on the bench for the majority of his loan spell

Started a game for the first time on Boxing Day, must have a blinder for your mate to come to that conclusion.

Let me just check his mark in the Non league paper.....er, 6
their forum seems to suggest he played well, in fact at a level above the rest of their players which I suppose is to be expected - they seemed to be saying that the rest need to step up to make use of the intelligent passes he was creating

A level above conference so, erm, fourth division then? Hardly a world beater.

I'd much rather see Brooks, Whiteman or Reed get a shot over the glassman.

Yes I'd like to see especially Brooks get a shot, I hope Wallace manages to get himself going and get his career back on track wherever that may be.

We have nothing to lose as we will be paying most of his wages anyway and if he is finally fit coming back for the run in
could be very useful. Why posters have to be sarcastic in posts about Wallace is childish, fingers crossed he's finally cracked it.

How many times do you want to keep making the same mistake before you realise you're wasting your time?

Forget about James Wallace, we need good and reliable players being brought in during January. Wallace doesn't fit the second criteria.

You are forgetting he is our player and Wilder wouldn't play him if he was not up to it.Chill out as I said we have nothing yo lose

Cracked it Finlay,is not the best choice of words there regarding Wallace.;)

Does anyone know the terms of the loan deal? It doesn’t fit the new league rules (season/ half season loans with no recall apart from in Jan) so does it still allow a 24 hour recall? If so, I say leave him there to get his fitness up and recall him IF Coutts or Fleck suffers an injury. If they stay fit, leave him at Tranmere.

so reading this from the Football Conference it looks like CW could do so if JW happened to be fit and say Fleck / Coutts were out for whatever reason.

"To extend the period of any Short Term Loan transfer a further National League System Temporary Transfer Form or FA form H3 must be completed and copies sent as directed above. If the Short Term Loan transfer is extended only the Club for whom the Player was originally registered will be allowed to cancel the agreement at any time within the extension period, i.e. after 28 days. In the case of a goalkeeper Clubs may mutually agree, if they so wish, to include a recall clause in the agreement to enable the Club for who the Player was originally registered to recall the Player at any time during the loan period. Players other than goalkeepers may not be recalled within the first month, i.e. 28 days, of any loan."

Looks a good position then. Keep him out there, let him play, hopefully they make a contribution to his wages and we only call him back if and when we need him.

Are you a doctor by any chance?

No but obviously James Wallace hasn't had injury problems and its all been a myth.

There was nowt wrong with Kennedy either we offloaded him because we don't like gingers.

Wallace update:- From THE STAR.....

"Sheffield United lurker, James Wallace is out of action again, this time with a badly broken ankle and shattered foot!
Injuries, we understand, that were sustained, after a small plastic moustache from a Christmas cracker fell from its housing onto Mr Wallace's left foot during Christmas dinner at his parents home.
Police, fire and rescue, paramedics and ambulance personnel, mountain rescue, the rnli, a lifeguard, all the staff from the royal hallamshire, including all the surgeons! were called, but it's understood that nothing could be done!!
Further details are not available at this stage."

Remember at the Fleetwood game talking to a mate who'd had a good chat with Wallace on the train back from a reserve game at Nottingham earlier in the season. Wallace claimed he was fit and had been for the second half of last season too. Subsequently kept an eye on the reserve reports in the programme but his name didn't appear to often on the team list, so assumed he was just trying to kid himself he was fit ... maybe not!!

He said exactly the same thing when he was loaned to Shrewsbury last January and proceeded to start just 3 games for them. He might say one thing, but I'm afraid the reality of his fitness is plain to see.

I'm hoping that he makes a success of getting back playing football, but have to say it did make me wonder if Tranmere had converted their Trophy Room into a library. When reading the Conference rules on short term loans it said we have to make all the players medical records available to them.

Why posters have to be sarcastic in posts about Wallace is childish,

I'd accept it is not his own fault, but when you have a player who is patently made of chocolate and has probably taken the best part of a million quid out of the club (£5k per week?), then you can understand people being just a bit knobbed off.

As per sick-note Naysmith, we all know that if Wallace finally gets fit, he won't hang around here.

And people still wonder 'where did the money go?'

His loan spell is up on Sunday and currently there is no mention as to whether we will extend it

To be honest its been a failed experiment so far, he has looked good when on the ball but he just cannot last in games, he played against Macclesfield on New Years day but was out on his feet after 50mins and we were massively overrun

He looks too good when on the ball at our level ( as you would expect ) but imo he is no way near a return to league football and personally unless you are contributing massively to his wages then I would rather we got someone else in

Its a real shame but it appears his body has given up on him as he should certainly be up to fitness by now

Indeed the sheer waste.
NEVER EVER let anyone forget it was Clough who gave this chocolate fireguard a 3 year contract.
Someone will be along to mention the profits from the cup run, shortly. Bah. !

After me posting that would be surprised if we extended his loan rumour now our end is he will be signing permanently for us!

First Higdon and now an unfit Wallace :)

Assuming he must be getting a pay off your end for us to take him
